I am a chicken lover and since I found out about Manh Hoach Chicken, I have not been able to eat other types of chicken. Although Manh Hoach Chicken is a bit expensive, the quality is really worth it and the deliciousness is indescribable. The chicken here is a young chicken, only about 1.5kg, the meat is very sweet and tender, unlike other types of chicken in the market or home-raised chicken because that type of chicken has tough meat and is not delicious. Manh Hoach Chicken is a type of chicken that is raised on hills and fed with rice, creating a special flavor that you can only find here.
Each chicken costs about 160,000 VND (about 7 USD) for 1.5kg, while other types of chicken are only about 70,000 VND/kg, although expensive but worth a try. A chicken like that is enough for one person to eat, while a 2kg chicken at other restaurants, 4 people still cannot finish it. It sounds strange but I tried it, and really just one serving of Manh Hoach Chicken is enough to fill me up, and after eating other types of chicken, I still feel like I'm lacking.
Manh Hoach Chicken restaurants are now present in many places, every street within a 2km radius has 2-3 restaurants, and they are almost always crowded. The restaurant is always spacious enough to accommodate many people, even on normal days like yesterday, the restaurant was still packed with people. Manh Hoach Chicken restaurants have a simple space with high yellow tables and chairs, but personally I prefer low tables to sit comfortably. However, the space is still quite good to enjoy the food.
Each person usually orders a portion of half a chicken. You won't see them chopping the chicken in advance, but you have to tear the chicken by hand. This is quite an interesting experience because the feeling of tearing the chicken by hand will help you feel more clearly the softness and sweetness of the meat. There are many chicken dishes here: boiled chicken, fried chicken, and salt-roasted chicken. I tried the boiled chicken, although it is a simple dish, the chicken is very tender, served with salt, chili, lime and lemon leaves, it is extremely delicious. The fried chicken also has a very special taste, the skin is crispy, but the chicken breast is a bit dry, while the thighs and wings are very fatty and soft.
In addition to chicken, the restaurant also serves some side dishes such as stir-fried vegetables, fried coconut sticky rice, and chicken gizzard vermicelli. The fragrant stir-fried garlic vegetable dish costs about 30,000 VND, the gizzard vermicelli cooked with shredded wood ear mushrooms is very delicious, the broth is naturally sweet from boiled chicken water. The fried sticky rice here is also very special, the outer layer is crispy, the inside has delicious coconut filling. I like fried sticky rice more than instant sticky rice because the outer layer is crispy, served with peanut salt, it is extremely interesting.
A meal for 6 people, only costs about 40 dollars (about 900,000 VND), each person eats a separate portion so there is no leftover food, and you don't sit too long. At this price, you won't have to pay too much but have a delicious and filling meal. I appreciate the restaurant's ability to keep the prices reasonable while the food quality is still excellent.
Although the restaurant's space is quite simple, don't underestimate the quality of the food here. If you are a lover of luxury, you may not be satisfied with the space here, but if you are just looking for a delicious and economical meal, Ga Manh Hoach is a great choice. Personally, I will come back many times hahahha because I am addicted to this chicken😝
** The picture I took was pretty bad because each person only ordered half a chicken lol there didn't seem to be much to take a picture ** 😭😭😭
