Garden Update 🍃
A massive electric cloud floated by this afternoon to interrupt an otherwise beautifully sunny day in these ends. There were some thunder but nothing else. I checked by app to see if there was going to be any rain so I could quickly pack my stuff back indoors from the late spring cleaning, but the app said no rain, just thunder and lightning.
It's been quite dry this spring so far, relatively speaking. It reminds me of the spring of 2019 which was probably the driest year I've ever experienced in the UK. I was away for much of that summer but I could see via weather reports that things never got any wetter than before I set off.
Some of the trees in my hood are already shedding leaves but the leaves are not brown like autumn time, no, they're green, but dry. So the leaves basically dry to death and fall off. This is a pretty bad sign. I hope we don't get a hose ban. I purchased a few hosepipe accessories this season and was looking forward to having a little fun cleaning outdoors lol.
My plants have been doing ok though, even though some of them are showing signs of dryness. I've been watering them at least ever other day. The fruits are starting to show on the berries and the spring onions bounced back hard this year. I've actually been eating them for breakfast; adding them to scrambled eggs and whatnot. Very fresh taste ✅

I'm looking forward to harvesting berries this year. I have good hope since all the squirrels in my hood have totally vanished. I think they probably moved home because of feline population explosion here. There used to be only one black cat years ago, my neighbours, but now we have about 8 of them! This includes a very vicious orange cat that's always trying to break into my place haha.

Even the birds are cautious now. The large crows and pigeons that used to frequent the garden have dwindled in number significantly probably for the same reason the rodents did. The down side of all this is that at least 3 of the eight cats now use my yard as their toilet. 😹
Peace & Love,
