The type of monster I hate the most in Splinterlands are those with magic attacks because they can attack in any position and ignore the monsters armor, attacking their health directly.
In this post, I'm going to talk about a monster that was widely used in the past, but is now very rare to find in battles. Come and meet the Unicorn Mustang, an incredible monster to have as an ally against monsters with magic attacks.

The Unicorn Mustang is a rare monster from the Earth deck. It belongs to the Untamed edition and its attack type is melee. What makes the Unicorn Mustang a great ally against monsters with magical attacks are its abilities. However, even without its abilities, it is already a great defense because it has a lot of life and is also a great source of damage since its attack is powerful.
Void, Magic Reflect and Piercing are the 4 abilities that the Unicorn Mustang has and now I will explain how they work in battle.

Void - This ability makes Unicorn Mustang take half the damage against physical attacks, meaning that melee and ranged attacks will only do half the damage to Unicorn Mustang.

Magic Reflect - This ability makes Unicorn Mustang return 50% of the magic attack received, meaning that if a monster with a magic attack attacks Unicorn Mustang, that monster will take 50% of the damage it does to Unicorn Mustang.

Piercing - This ability makes Unicorn Mustang deal the excess damage caused to the armor to the life of the monster it attacks, meaning that if a monster has 1 armor and Unicorn Mustang has 4 attack, then the monster's armor will be destroyed and Unicorn Mustang will deal 3 damage to the life of that monster.
I remember that in the past I used to get really angry when my opponent used Unicorn Mustang because one of my favorite strategies in Splinterlands was to use the magic attack monsters from the water deck together with the summoner Alric Stormbringer, so Unicorn Mustang was my worst nightmare since it took less damage from my monsters and still caused damage to them with the Magic Reflect ability. I felt even more angry when my opponent used Khmer Princess, a monster from the earth deck that has the Tank Heal ability, which means that it healed Unicorn Mustang and made it almost impossible for me to defeat it because most of my monsters had magic attack.
In the past I was almost invincible in the lower leagues with the water deck but whenever I faced an opponent who used the earth deck, defeat was almost certain.
Knowing all the cards in Splinterlands is important when developing strategies for battles and although the Unicorn Mustang is not used much nowadays, it is still a great choice for battles.
