With all that's going on in the blockchain I thought of sweetening things up a bit. I went out to forage some blackberries and while I was at it started imagining different things I could do with them. I thought: "what would happen if I made some bread but instead of water I used some blackberry juice?". So I went ahead and tried it. I suppose this is so simple it doesn't need a recipe but I'll share it anyway.
Preparation
First I mixed all the dry stuff in a bowl and then I placed the blackberries in the blender along with a small amount of water just to make sure they mixed into a juicy state.
I added the blackberry juice and the oil into the mix.
Then went to kneading for a while.
Decorated with some blackberries on top.
Spread the dough over the oven tray while pre-heating the oven to 180° C.
Put it in the oven for half an hour at middle height and voila!
It ended up being more like a biscuit, but quite nice. You could definitely taste the blackberry flavor all over and the texture is soft. It gets a bit addictive!
Have you tried doing this with some fruit? I imagine it works with any fruit, perhaps with the exception of citrics.
What I like about this is the fact you can just forage anything and whip it up into some dough to get a special flavored bread that has a much higher nutritional value than ordinary white bread.
I'm super curious to see how it goes with other fruits, even vegetables or mushrooms!
