Ingredients

🥩 1 Chuck Roast
📦 1 Italian dressing seasoning packet
🌿 1 teaspoon Oregano
🌿 1 teaspoon Basil
🌶️ 1 teaspoon Paprika
🧂 1 teaspoon Onion powder
🧄 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
🧂 Sea salt and pepper to taste
🧅 1 Chopped onion
🌶️ 1 Red pepper, chopped
🌶️ 1 Green pepper, chopped
🧄 2 cloves of Chopped garlic
🌶️ 1 Scotch bonnet pepper (optional) or Pepperonchinis
💧 1 cup Water
🧊 1 Beef bouillon cube
🧈 1 tablespoon Butter
🫒 1 tablespoon Olive oil
🧀 1 cup Mozzarella mixed with Parmesan cheese (or Provolone)
🌿 Fresh Cilantro, for garnish
🌮 8 Flour Tortillas

Instructions

1- Preparation:

  • Pat the chuck roast dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix the Italian seasoning packet, oregano, basil, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, and pepper.
  • Rub this seasoning mixture all over the chuck roast.

2- Searing the Beef:

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the seasoned chuck roast and sear on all sides until a rich, brown crust forms, about 3-4 minutes per side.

3- Braising the Beef:

  • Add chopped onions, red and green peppers, chopped garlic, and the beef bouillon cube to the pan.
  • Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the beef braise for 2 ½ hours or until fork-tender. If you have a larger piece of meat, adjust the cooking time accordingly.

4- Optional Spice:

  • If using Scotch bonnet pepper or Pepperonchinis, add these to the pan during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

5- Melting the Cheese:

  • In another pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add flour tortillas one at a time, sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan mixture (or Provolone) and heat until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is lightly toasted.

6- Assembling the Tacos:

  • Shred the braised beef using two forks.
  • Fill each tortilla with a generous helping of beef, some of the pepper mixture, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

7- Serve:

  • Serve the tacos hot, ensuring that the cheese is melted and gooey. Enjoy these flavorful, juicy Italian Beef Tacos with friends and family!
