If you want a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of Metro Cebu but, at the moment, couldn't afford a 2D1N stay at Alhibé Farm, there's a cheaper option that will not only bring you peace and fullness.

Alhibé's management truly understands what customers these days need, an immersion with nature's finest treasures. They were able to offer this through their Agwas Café. The café is located near the main entrance of Alhibé. If you're visiting for the café, you'll find it immediately upon passing through the one and only guests entrance. Since breakfast wasn't included in the rate we paid, we ordered separately and ate at their restaurant. We need to walk to the café; this entailed an ascend in the steep part of the farm; no big deal for most but take note, elders might find it a bit challenging. On our way there, we spotted a few organized gardens for some of the ingredients they use in their café. Nothing makes me happier knowing what I ate is fresh and organic.

We passed through this same route when we arrived on our first day, but I guess I was too excited for the farm that I didn't even notice the café. It was only when we had our breakfast at Agwas that I dropped my jaw open when I got a closer encounter with the café. It was unlike any cafés I've been to.

The design is truly well thought out. The small open air huts where people dine in are strategicaly located by the hillside. The engineers and/or architects made use of the natural landscape doing minimal modification along the way. Not many businesses do this so hats off to Alhibé for sticking with their eco-friendly designs. Most of the materials used where light natural materials like bamboo (big and small), rattan for the furnitures, and other hard wood. With its open air design, it brings customers as close as they possibly can to nature. Just like Alhibé, Agwas is surrounded with lush green ornamental plants; although this might pose a challenge on the rainy day (mosquitoes and all) but during our visit, there was no issue with sanitation at all.

One of the staff led us to the bigger dining area where we all can fit it; it was overlooking the forest inside and outside of the farm. The view at Agwas was superb but when our orders were brought to us one by one, our attention was redirected at the food. They all looked delish, hearty and warm. We waited for everyone's orders to arrive before we ate.

Some ordered the famous Filipino breakast, a silog meal. While others were brave enough to try something else like an oatmeal bowl, a pancake set, and the star of the morning, their blue biko. Biko is a a type of sweet rice cake that is perfect for dessert, afternoon snacks or breakfast. Biko is usually colored brown; it get this color from the brown sugar used to make this kakanin sweet. But the biko at Agwas isn't brown or light brown but blue. Yes, you got it right, it's as blue as it can be. For this reason, we ordered their biko to see what made it so unique and sought after.

Taste wise it wasn't as remarkable as I thought it to be. It was sweet and tasty but like any other biko but aside from its color, nothing too special really. We were too full that we only ate a little portion of the 2 orders of biko. We had the rest for take out.
