Health is the key to everything else. Counting calories is the key. I used to work with some people that ran one of the biggest fitness chains in the US. The health club chain had all kinds of equipment and classes, juice bars, sold vitamins and supplements, had personal trainers, pools, saunas, tennis courts, basketball gyms, everything they could think of to sell you. But they all said at the end of the day it was simple math. Calories in vs Calories out. How much you ate vs how many calories you burned. And nothing else could change the math.

Gyms and workouts are good, but many people think going to the gym would solve their problem. We all know that's a very lucrative business, because it is selling a dream to so many lazy people. There are some, who understand what working out means and doing it correctly, but without a proper diet, nothing is going to be achieved.
