Leftovers and powder for dessert

in #palnet5 years ago

I intended to post this with @appics but my connection is still slow. With slow I mean real slow.

We had a late breakfast.

Actually, it was lunch.

**At dutch snack bars you can order a "broodje warm vlees" (a sandwich warm meat).

It's seldom chicken but that is what I made for the children.
The meat is warm, the peanut sauce and the bread are too.

Later today we had a dessert.
This powder should be a pudding with apple taste. It's one of the Dr. Oetker gifts.

I stirred it through some cold milk (0.5 liters of milk is needed). The powder smells nice but it's not apple what I smell.

There are tiny pieces of... - no idea what it is - in it.
I am not very fond of food with "things in it".

Instead of 500 ml of milk, I use milk and water.
I stir in the pan while I wait till it's cooking, next I temper the fire while I keep stirring till it gets thicker.

An hour later it's cold and ready.
I cannot say it's much. Only two of those small containers.

What does it taste like?
If you ask us it has most in common with our banana-custard or those banana candies (shaped like bananas). Those things in the custard are still hard and taste like nothing. It can be anything, plastic included. We wish they had not to add it to it. The custard is a bit too sweet for my taste. Your lips get sticky.

There's more Dr. Oetker powder food I wrote about.
Besides of the plastic pieces and it's sweetness this powder was the best so far. It did not stink, no fake alcohol added to it and I didn't need to add extra ingredients to make it taste better.
