Banh cuon - energetic breakfast

in #foodyesterday

Banh cuon is an extremely familiar breakfast dish of Vietnamese people, this dish is light for a full morning of energy, it does not make you feel heavy like eating sticky rice, so a plate of this banh cuon is enough for breakfast. With the main ingredient being finely ground rice, banh cuon is made into a thin, soft crust and the inside is filled with wood ear mushrooms and minced meat. Banh cuon looks quite normal and simple on the outside, but it is that simplicity that makes this dish surprisingly attractive. Hot banh cuon, eaten right at the restaurant, always keeps its hotness and freshness, however, there is garlic in the dipping sauce, so you will have a slightly unpleasant garlic flavor, but it's okay, just eat some chewing gum afterwards, the garlic adds a delicious flavor to the dipping sauce, making it more fragrant.

And if talking about delicious banh cuon, we cannot fail to mention Banh Cuon located right in Dan Di street, which is known as a culinary paradise. This banh cuon shop is famous not only for its thin, soft layer of rice paper but also for its rich flavor, which is typical of Hanoi banh cuon. The rice paper is spread on the spot on a thin layer of cloth stretched over the mouth of the steamer. The maker puts a ladle of flour on the cloth, rubs it evenly to make the rice paper thin, then closes the pot lid to cook the rice paper. When the rice paper is just cooked, people will take it out, put the filling in the middle and roll it up. It is wonderful to see this process with your own eyes and feel the freshness of the rice paper.

The rice paper has a thin, white layer of rice paper and must be soft and chewy enough, not too dry. And one of the indispensable parts to create the perfection of the rice paper is the cinnamon sausage. This type of sausage is made from pork, with an eye-catching yellow crust on the outside, this dish is more delicious than sausage, it is a combination of the aroma of cinnamon with the sweet, fatty taste of minced pork. Taking a bite of the cinnamon sausage, you will feel the rich aroma of the meat and the scent of cinnamon spreading, so the cinnamon sausage is a very important part to eat with the rice rolls.

It only takes 5 minutes for you to eat hot rice rolls, because the seller makes this dish in front of you, so you can rest assured about the cleanliness of the dish, you will feel its freshness and deliciousness.

In addition, the restaurant also serves some other side dishes such as stewed chicken noodles, duck eggs, or stewed chicken thighs, you can try them. Although the space of the restaurant looks normal, small and cramped, the wonderful flavor of the rice rolls made me unable to ignore it. The price of the rice rolls here is very reasonable, from 25,000 - 40,000 VND, (from 1 USD to 1.7 USD) with such quality of food, this is indeed a great choice for breakfast.

With all these factors, Banh Cuon Dan Di deserves to be a familiar address for those looking for a light yet nutritious breakfast.
