Por mi parte estoy bastante bien, realmente no tuve tanto planes este fin de semana debido a que las calles están un poco congestionada por los Carnavales, sin embargo, nos escapamos un rato al centro comercial y a un restaurante bastante antiguo y conocido en la ciudad de Barranquilla por su excelente servicio tanto en comida como atención, así que por aquí les quiero contar de mi experiencia en el restaurante El gran chef.

For my part I'm pretty good, I really did not have so many plans this weekend because the streets are a little congested by the Carnivals, however, we escaped for a while to the mall and a restaurant quite old and known in the city of Barranquilla because of its excellent service both in food and attention, so here I want to tell you about my experience in the restaurant El gran chef.
Este restaurante queda ubicado en la zona norte de la ciudad, para ser más exacta en la cra 51 con 76 y como se puede apreciar en la foto tiene su nombre bastante visible, una vez entramos nos dirigimos a una de las mesas disponibles y rápidamente nos hicieron entrega del menú, donde se pueden apreciar opciones como entradas, sopas, las especialidades del restaurante, arroces, carnes, entre muchísimas otras opciones.
Nosotros decidimos pedir como entrada una porción de lumpias rellenas de vegetales, la cual consta de dos lumpias con un tamaño y relleno bastante apropiado, junto con las lumpias nos trajeron salsa de soja, salsa picante y salsa agridulce, siendo esta última la más rica. La porción de lumpias tuvo un valor de $16.000 pesos Colombianos ($4,08 Dólares)
This restaurant is located in the northern part of the city, to be more exact in the cra 51 with 76 and as you can see in the photo has its name quite visible, once we entered we went to one of the available tables and quickly they gave us the menu, where you can see options such as appetizers, soups, restaurant specialties, rice, meats, among many other options.
We decided to order as a starter a portion of lumpias stuffed with vegetables, which consists of two lumpias with a size and filling quite appropriate, along with the lumpias they brought us soy sauce, spicy sauce and sweet and sour sauce, the latter being the most delicious. The portion of lumpias had a value of $16,000 Colombian pesos ($4.08 dollars).
Una vez que revisamos bien el menú llegó la hora de ordenar, nos decidimos por el arroz especial que consta de arroz con pollo, cerdo y camarón, el cual nos pareció ideal para compartir entre 3 o 4 personas y también optamos por una porción de Chop Suey con lomo, como acompañante me decidí por una limonada natural mientras que Fer optó por una Coca-Cola bien fría.
Algo que me gustó mucho de este restaurante es la manera en que te sirven la comida, para explicarles un poco, todas las bandejas te las acercan a la mesa en un carrito, primero ponen el plato vacío en tu lugar y la comida como tal te la sirve el mesero en la misma mesa desde las bandejas que vienen con su respectiva tapa, es decir, la comida no tiene contacto con el ambiente mientras pasa de la cocina a tu mesa, luego de esto el mesero deja la bandeja tapada y los utensilios para servir por si deseas repetir.
Once we had checked the menu it was time to order, we decided on the special rice with chicken, pork and shrimp, which seemed ideal to share between 3 or 4 people and we also opted for a portion of Chop Suey with tenderloin, as an accompaniment I decided on a natural lemonade while Fer opted for a cold Coca-Cola.
Something I really liked about this restaurant is the way they serve the food, to explain a little, all the trays are brought to the table on a cart, first they put the empty plate in your place and the food as such is served by the waiter at the same table from the trays that come with their respective cover, that is, the food has no contact with the environment while passing from the kitchen to your table, after this the waiter leaves the covered tray and utensils to serve in case you want to repeat.
Si tuviéramos que calificar la comida diríamos que fue un 10/10, el arroz no se sentía para nada seco pero tampoco grasoso como suele pasar con algunos arroces, traía bastante porción de proteínas y el chop suey sin duda fue un excelente acompañante, traía una buena cantidad de vegetales, el lomo estaba delicioso debido a que se sentía muy suave en cada mordisco y la salsa con que lo prepararon le daba un sabor increíble, tipo dulce pero no empalagoso.
La verdad es que teníamos en mente una opción diferente para almorzar este día, pero sin duda visitar el restaurante El gran chef fue lo mejor que pudimos hacer, es una gran opción para los amantes de la comida china, te brindan un servicio de excelente calidad. En cuanto a atención la verdad es que nos gustó mucho por lo rápido y gentil que fue el mesero con nosotros y en cuanto a sabores y comida no cabe duda que es toda una gran experiencia gastronómica.
If we had to rate the food we would say it was a 10/10, the rice did not feel dry at all but not greasy as it usually happens with some rice dishes, it had enough protein and the chop suey was certainly an excellent companion, it had a good amount of vegetables, the tenderloin was delicious because it felt very soft in every bite and the sauce with which it was prepared gave it an incredible flavor, kind of sweet but not cloying.
The truth is that we had in mind a different option for lunch this day, but certainly visiting the restaurant El Gran Chef was the best thing we could do, it is a great choice for lovers of Chinese food, they provide excellent quality service. In terms of service, the truth is that we liked it very much because of how fast and kind the waiter was with us and in terms of flavors and food, there is no doubt that it is a great gastronomic experience.
Una opción que te brinda el restaurante es que si no deseas comer en el lugar también puedes pedir a domicilio, por lo que puedes disfrutar de sus platillos desde la comodidad de tu casa. Me gustó mucho que es todo acondicionado y la parte de atrás aunque parece al aire libre, realmente es también cerrada pero tiene una linda vista al jardín.
El total final fue de $150.000 pesos Colombianos ($38.22 Dólares) incluyendo la propina del mesero, lo cual nos pareció bastante bien debido a la cantidad y calidad de cada platillo, a demás del servicio brindado. I really liked the fact that it is all air-conditioned and the back of the restaurant, although it looks open air, is actually closed but has a nice view of the garden.
