Another year done and dusted
As I mentioned earlier, this is the period of several birthdays in our family and now that it's over I can share some about my humble day. Personally, I don't care about presents (unless something I really need or want for some reason) and I definitely don't care much about cake either, but as you may know by now, my daughter surely does, lol.
Different approach
This time I didn't want to go and sit somewhere and pick from a few cakes and then be a bit disappointed as it's not really my thing in the end so I went back online to find the one little place that sells filled cookies and some cakes as well. I had no clue about how much would be in store every day, they just open a few hours daily and the rest is probably spent baking. Thankfully I could reach out by app and I could just pick the things I wanted and she'd have them ready to pick up the next day, great!
Cinnamon rolls!
Buying a cake is not really something I would do easily unless it's for the little one, of course. But they also had cinnamon rolls and if there's something we all love and also miss eating sometimes, it's that! So I quickly ordered 3 of these and picked three different cookies with filling. I picked three different ones simply because I wanted to taste many of them and I assumed they would all be freaking delicious.
Picking up the goodies
As I need to up my steps a bit, and the weather seemed stunning for that day of the year, I took my daughter for a walk to the store to pick up the goodies. We entered such a cute little bakery that I had to ask if I could take a few pictures.
These are all stuffed cookies with many different fillings, we bought 3 different ones, to try.
My daughter on the cute little seating area with cookie pillows, cute, right?
We took home 2 boxes, one with three cookies and one with 3 cinnamon rolls and I was so curious to try them. First, we had to walk back home.
Unpacking!
First, we opened the cinnamon rolls box because we were going to have a coffee (not the little one lol) with a cinnamon roll. The cookies were saved for later because they would be too much for us to eat at once.
The cinnamon rolls were really good, perfect structure inside, we loved them!
Of course we also checked the cookies before putting them away for later. The left one is pistache with lemon, the middle one was double chocolate (with nutella filling) and the right one was kinder filling. I want to try a little piece of all of them to know if I love it or not.
The kinder cookies was bought for my daughter (minus a bite) and that was a good match, she loved it! I love kinder filling but whenever I ate this in the past, my stomach didn't love it so I only took a tiny bite from it and left the rest for her. She didn't mind, of course.
The pistache with lemon filling I bought for my boyfriend as I know he's not that fond of chocolate stuff. He liked it but as expected, it was too heavy for him, so he left half the cookie because this is not his type of food because it will give him stomach aches afterwards. I personally didn't love it as I was hoping for a more pistache taste.
The one I bought for myself was my favourite in the end because the chocolate was double indeed but not as overwhelming as some other chocolate cakes are. I had no issues eating this whole cookie (lol) minus a bite from the little one and the nutella filling was nice and soft.
Great day
Although we didn't do anything special my birthday, my daughter worked very hard to craft me a wondeful card for my birthday and even a handmade coupon for a new camera bag when I find one. I tried finding the one I want to have but no success before my day arrived so I rather just collect the gift when I find the perfect one.
Oh and they also brought me fresh croissants from the bakery in the morning. In the afternoon, my boyfriend asked if I wanted to go somewhere as the phone wasn't ringing anyway so he could get the afternoon off. We went to a mall to check a few stores, and then had a bite somewhere before returning home.
