I have to be honest and say that this particular prompt topic comes off somewhat complicated to me. I mean, if I had to go by the economic situation of this country in which I reside, then I'd say healthy eating is just too expensive.
The hike in the price of stuff, especially food items in the past couple of months, has been really worrisome. These days, more than having to eat quality food containing a balanced diet, they're just concerned about filling their bellies.
Again, somehow, it does feel like we make things hard on ourselves. With wanting to try every recipe we cone across online, most times not taking note of what good/bad effects the components of the meal could have on us.
I believe that healthy food means a balanced diet. Eating healthy shouldn't be expensive. If you're preparing meals from scratch at home, then eating healthy is not more expensive. In fact, it can be a lot cheaper. I'm one who would usually make comparisons between getting food from vendors or making them yourself and every single time, I never found the outdoor meals to be of more quality or cost-effective as the one I make myself.
Meanwhile, the issue here isn't about homemade meals or takeout.
I digress...
Over here, I think the p4oblrm with healthy feeding doesn't lie so much on the shoulders of food bloggers/influencers. It isn't even affected by accessibility nor pursuit of health. Rather, it's affected by the price of items. Cause most of these bloggers use far more ingredients than the average man can afford to in these present times. So, eating what food bloggers tell is extremely expensive, whereas eating healthy isn't.
Meanwhile, factors such as whether a food is whole or processed, the Locality in which a person finds himself, the foods in Season at the time, as well as if a person meal preps could be considered in this debate.
Importantly, a lot depends on what an individual considers as healthy.
Cause, mostly, all that is required for eating quality and overall optimal health is a good source of protein & essential fatty acids plus a source of micronutrients that help maintain gut health.
So, healthy living, from where i stand, gas little to do with food influencers but more to do with an individual, his/her purchasing power, and the economy.
Thanks for gracing this post.
