Hello everyone

While scrolling through TikTok today, I came across a review of a beef noodle shop and a dessert café in the Kathu area. The reviews made me crave both dishes instantly—but there was just one problem: they were from two different places! I started wondering how I could enjoy both in one trip.

After checking the map, I realized that the two shops were only 300 meters apart—a short and easy drive! With that in mind, I hopped in my car and headed straight for the beef noodle shop first, already planning to visit the dessert café right after my meal.

After about 25 minutes, I arrived at Beef Noodle Soup – Kathu Phuket, a small, cozy restaurant well-known for its slow-cooked, tender beef and rich, flavorful broth. Despite its simple setup, this place has built a solid reputation among locals and visitors alike.

While their signature beef noodle soup is the main attraction, the menu offers a variety of other dishes, including spicy papaya salad (som tam), grilled beef, stir-fried basil (pad krapow), and even Western-style breakfast options. With so many choices, it’s the kind of place that can satisfy different cravings all in one stop!

After placing my order, the staff brought out a plate of fresh vegetables to enjoy with the noodles. The plate included crisp bean sprouts and fragrant Thai basil, both of which pair perfectly with beef noodle soup. These are essential side toppings in any good noodle shop, and I was happy to see that they were provided complimentary for customers—just as they should be!

Next came the braised beef, served with a side of spicy dipping sauce. The beef was incredibly tender and juicy, melting in my mouth with every bite. The bold flavors of the dipping sauce complemented the richness of the beef perfectly, creating an irresistible combination that had me reaching for more!

Next, the beef noodle soup arrived. The braised beef was as delicious as expected, tender and full of flavor. However, the broth itself wasn't as rich and bold as I had hoped—it lacked that deep, savory depth that you typically find in a great bowl of noodle soup. Nonetheless, the beef itself made up for it, delivering the perfect texture and taste.

After finishing my bowl of noodles, I wasted no time and headed straight to the dessert shop nearby"Baan Bua Loy"*. This place specializes in traditional Thai desserts, offering a variety of sweet treats displayed beautifully in a long glass case at the front. The colorful selection looked absolutely irresistible!

Although this shop is famous for its bua loy (glutinous rice balls in coconut milk), the hot weather made me crave something more refreshing. So, I opted for a bowl of "Ruam Mit", a Thai dessert that allows you to pick six different ingredients, all topped with a generous amount of crushed ice—the perfect way to cool down!

While waiting for my Ruam Mit to be served, I took the opportunity to snap some photos and look around the shop. The place had a cozy and playful vibe, with its pink-themed decor and an adorable collection of stuffed toys placed throughout the space. Despite being a small shop, the cheerful atmosphere made it feel warm and inviting—the perfect spot to enjoy a sweet treat!

As I lifted the lid, a vibrant mix of colorful Thai sweets appeared inside the glass bowl, looking absolutely irresistible. Without hesitation, I poured the crushed ice over the dessert, followed by a generous drizzle of sweet syrup. With the heat of the day, this refreshing Ruam Mit was exactly what I needed—cool, sweet, and incredibly satisfying!* ☀️🍧*

What I loved most about this experience wasn’t just the delicious food, but also the simple joy of discovering new places. From finding the noodle shop through TikTok, to realizing the dessert café was just a short walk away, it reminded me how fun and spontaneous food adventures can be!
