Today I want to review one of the major Buddhist festivals in Thailand last year (the Summer Festival). November 15th of the Thai calendar every year is our Buddhist Summer Festival. It is one of the important traditional Buddhist festivals in Thailand. Common people perform rituals in Buddhist temples. After grandly giving alms and listening to the monks reciting Buddhist scriptures, people moved the Buddha statues out of the temple and placed them in a small mobile pavilion. The Buddha statues were placed with monk bowls for believers to give alms.
In addition, during the summer festival, people also donate monk robes, and I go to the Buddhist temple in Padang Besa every year to perform almsgiving activities because I am very close to the master of this Buddhist temple.
Early in the morning, our family drove from Malaysia to Padang Besa, Thailand. When we arrived in Thailand, we felt that there were so many people and cars couldn't drive inside the temple. We had to park outside the temple and walk to the temple, which was also a long way away.When we entered the Buddhist temple, the monks were just about to recite sutras. This year's Summer Festival was more grand than last year. Many believers came to make alms. It was already 1 o'clock in the afternoon when the monks finished reciting sutras. There is free food here for believers to enjoy, and there are also many vendors doing business here, with many classic pastries.
What I like most is our Thai traditional dance performance. The elderly local residents participated enthusiastically, which added a lot of lively atmosphere to this traditional festival. It was already evening after the ceremony, so we were reluctant to part with it. After leaving the Buddhist temple, I also received Master's blessing, hoping for good luck and good health.
