For the second time I enjoyed food at Wajir Seafood Medan located on Jalan Kolonel Sugiono Number 3i, Medan, North Sumatra. However, this time I had a different experience even with the same taste of food.
I don't want to discuss the taste of seafood in detail, even though I touched on it a little. However, the long queue made my girlfriend and I almost run out of patience. My girlfriend even asked me to leave after we had waited for almost half an hour.
But I said, "We have waited so long. If we leave and find another place, it might take even longer."
Finally, we continued the queue. Our luck finally came from another impatient visitor. All visitors must take a queue number from 1 - 150 or more. Then it will be repeated from the beginning.
Well, there were visitors who then got impatient and returned the queue number. I who was standing next to a waiter asked for the queue number, so we didn't wait too long.
Maybe this is not recommended. But I almost never do it.
Why is the queue at Wajir Seafood Medan so long and slow?
I suspect this is because it is still the Eid al-Fitr 1446 H holiday season so many other restaurants are closed. Meanwhile, during Eid al-Fitr many people do not cook at home, many gather at home to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. This has become a tradition for Indonesian people.
Because it is still the Eid al-Fitr season, not all types of dishes are available. We ordered shrimp and squid, but they were sold out. Finally, we ordered gourami and pomfret which turned out to be more than enough for the two of us. Finally, we had to take the gourami home because the process took a long time and we were too hungry to wait.
How about the taste of the food at Wajir Seafood Medan? My girlfriend who just ate here for the first time, said, "The tiredness and long queue are paid off by the taste of the food."
The food at Wajir Seafood Medan is indeed very impressive. The fish is still fresh with strong spices. The texture of the fish is soft and the aroma is really appetizing. Mixed with water spinach, it complements the taste so that people with high cholesterol will forget.
Luckily I can eat anything and do like seafood. However, we could only finish one piece of grilled pomfret. Food that has been ordered and not finished can be taken home.
For an order of two fish, one serving of vegetables and two glasses of exotic mango juice, we only paid Rp218,000 or equivalent to 57.3 Hive at the price when I wrote this article.
