Sunshine and smiles, Hivers! It's been a while since I posted a new blog. In this blog, I am going to show you how my first day going to school in the year 2025.
Last Friday, I went to school because our classes were resuming. When I arrived at the school, I found out that all of our professors would not meet with us today and would see us next week instead. We just hang out in the classroom while waiting for more instructions. @renacris, Khim, and I decided to head to Aki Mart to try out their mini Korean store since our class finished at noon and we wanted to stay out a bit longer. Aki Mart is a newly opened Korean store in our city, and I believe it is the first Korean store to open here.
We take a jeepney to get to Aki Mart, which is only a 15-minute ride away. After a 5-minute walk, we reach the store since the jeepney driver drops us off at the terminal, and the store is located just beyond it. We still have to head to their stairs because the store is situated on the 2nd floor of the building. What I love about this building is that their restrooms are very clean and do not have some awful odors that you can smell in other public restrooms.
When we arrived at the store, my eyes were drawn to the samyangs displayed in the corner. They offered a wide variety of samyang and noodles. There were also instructions on how to place your order and a step-by-step guide for preparing your samyangs.
I selected cream carbonara since it’s my favorite samyang; it’s not very spicy and quite bearable. I choose coke for my drink, along with rice cake and fish cake as side dishes. I added some mozzarella cheese to add more the deliciousness of my samyang.
Here's my friend preparing their samyang; they choose carbonara samyang and paired it with egg and rice cake as side dishes. They have a wide array of products to choose from.
There are various chocolates, some pepperos, ice creams , pouched juices and a selection of Korean food products. The prices are much cheaper than the previous Korean store we visited. The cost for the cream carbonara samyang here is only 110 pesos, while other varieties of samyangs are priced below 110 pesos. I spent just 265 pesos for my meal, that's right! It was very economical and quite budget-friendly. I also decided to add some nori (seaweed sheets) to go along with my samyang. The nori was only 25 pesos each, which is very affordable!
I’m currently preparing my samyang noodles and took some time to read the instructions on how to operate their machine for cooking. While dining here, the ambiance feels quite lonely and silent, as there is no music to enhance the atmosphere. I really love the friendliness of the cashier, which stood out to me. Many students choose to eat here due to the affordability, and the store is located at the heart of the city which attracts more customers.
We spent about four hours there because we were waiting for a friend who wanted to go here. We enjoyed chatting and laughing while eating and enjoying our food at Aki Mart. The staff at the store are quite lenient about how long you can stay. Despite our extended dining in, they were pleased to serve us whatever we want to buy while dining inside of the store.
After we finished our meal, we chose to head out to the store. I headed straight home since I still had some errands to do.
And that's the end of my blog, Hivers! If you are near at my location, I encourage you to visit Aki Mart and enjoy a meal there. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog! Ciao!
