A tasty dish inspired by a Chinese classic, char siu chicken can be easily cooked in an oven, roasting pan, or air fryer. I've made this char siu several times since so today I'll lift and twist ingredients a bit to another step by making Chicken Char Siu and serving with Jade Noodles. Well, it turned out so delicious. Traditionally, char siu is usually made with pork marinated in sauces of red color from red fermented bean curd, and served with jade noodles.
Jade noodles are a type of egg noodles. They are mainly made from chicken eggs and all-purpose flour, then mixed with the puree of kale leaves or spinach leaves. This is a very quick meal to prepare especially if you can buy fresh Jade Noodles from a local grocery shop, and it cost around 0.74 USD per 1/2 kg here in Thailand.
For this recipe, I marinated the chicken thigh by using the red fermented bean curd, Shaoxing wine, oyster sauce, soy sauce, five spices, honey, and pepper for about an hour then roasted the chicken by air flyer for 20 minutes more. These simple recipes are great for easy dinners during the mid-week that'll please everyone in my family.
