IS HONEY VEG OR NON-VEG?

in Foodies Bee Hivelast year (edited)

Hey fam!

So, here I am, just like I promised! Last time, we dived into the bee world – how those little buddies make honey, how they store it, and that little trick to getting the pure stuff by just lifting off that top layer of wax. Pretty cool, right?

Now, I know I left you all on a bit of a cliffhanger. “Is honey veg or non-veg?” you’ve been wondering. Well, grab your seats because we’re about to get into it. But hey, let’s ease into the big reveal with a quick chat about what being 'veg' really means.

Going 'veg' is all about ditching anything that comes from animals. Think fruits, veggies, grains, and all that good plant-based stuff. It’s about celebrating all the greens and beans without crossing paths with animal products. bit confused...?
ok, then
A vegetarian diet excludes meat (the flesh of animals), fish, and poultry. There are various sub-categories within vegetarianism, based on which animal products, if any, are included:

Lacto-vegetarians consume dairy products but avoid eggs, meat, fish, and poultry.
Ovo-vegetarians eat eggs but exclude dairy, meat, fish, and poultry.
Lacto-ovo vegetarians include both dairy products and eggs in their diet but do not consume meat, fish, and poultry.
Vegans avoid all animal products and by-products, including meat, fish, poultry, dairy, eggs, and often honey, as well as products like gelatin and some forms of vitamin D3.

but how you define non vegetarian "Boom, he has no rules"

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for...

Where does honey fall in this veg vs. non-veg showdown? It’s kinda like the plot twist in your favorite series. Even though it’s made by bees (and not exactly “from” them like milk from cows), it’s still considered an animal product. So, for folks who stick to a strict veg diet, especially the vegans, honey is a no-fly zone. But if you’re not super strict, you might still say yes to honey.

So, yeah, honey kinda blurs the lines—it’s not quite here or there. It really boils down to how you define your own veg journey.

Before we wrap this up, I just wanna say a huge THANK YOU to @emsenn0, @kemonine and @int.alfa who showed love for my last post. You guys are the real MVPs, and your support is what keeps this adventure going. Can’t wait to see where we head next!

“And now, after diving deep into the golden world of honey, I’ve got another little puzzle for you all. Have you ever wondered why honey can last for centuries without spoiling, sitting in those ancient jars, as fresh as the day it was sealed? What magical property does honey have that keeps it eternally youthful? Stay tuned, because that’s the sweet mystery we’ll unravel in our next honey-adventure.”

Catch you later,
