It was a public holiday yesterday for Nurul al-Quran. I thanked God it was public holiday because my eldest son and I had minor stomach bug, we assumed it was due to biryani beef rendang which only both of us ate on Sunday night. We actually started stomachache and diarrhoea on Monday, gosh it was tiring running to toilet few rounds.
Nevertheless, we still seized the moment to meet our relatives for lunch. One family came all the way from Singapore/Johor, hence we must not miss this chance.
Lunch at Butter Kaya!
This was the place we had our church Christmas lunch too. Loving the food and the atmosphere here.
Food we ordered
There was not a lot of clear non-spicy or non-fried food, so my son and I just had to bear with the food, maybe running a couple more toilets after the lunch. Lol...
Prawn Dumpling Clear Soup Noodle
I looked at the menu for quite awhile and finally decided for this clear soup noodle, albeit not my preference, guess it was the best for my stomach now. Turned out it was really super delicious plus the noodle was homemade, very smooth and had a really pleasant bite. It came with super flavourful soup, generous amount of minced chicken, three prawn dumplings, vegetables and fish cakes. Yums! However, due to my poor appetite, I couldn't finish the big bowl of noodles.
Roti John Beef and Cheese
My eldest son couldn't bring himself to eat clear soup noodle, so he said he would eat something he liked and to suffer later. He ordered for himself roti (bread) John, a rectangle bun sliced into half, toasted and top with black pepper beef, lots of cheese and 'keropok muruku' on top. He listened to his body to not consume the fried muruku, so the keropok was wasted. Super duper yummy!
Black Pepper Beef Omurice
Youngest son ordered black pepper beef omurice. This was highly recommended, in fact all the omurice in their menu were highly recommended. Very well cooked black pepper beef, well-done egg on top of the rice. Delicious!!!
Nasi Lemak Satay & Fried Chicken
Both my husband and my nephew ordered the 'nasi lemak' with fried chicken and satay. Very well-marinated fried chicken, properly fried and the satay was amazing too.
Black Pepper beef dry noodle
This one was ordered by my brother--in-law and anything of the black pepper beef was delicious.
We had such a great time for catching up with one another, I gotto hang out at the table with mostly the young ones, after that, I went to join the table of all the older ones. We were there for more than two hours, just to hang out and chitchat.
Some photos of us together!
Later on, we got to say bye bye outside the restaurant, but then we got caught up again and continued to chat. Lol.... After real byes, husband bought Mixue drinks for us. Peach drink for myself and eldest son, ice cream for the youngest, toffee hazelnut milk tea for the husband.
