รีวิวร้านค้า อาหารและของหวานจากตลาด

Even though I enjoy cooking for myself, when I visit the market, I sometimes buy readytoeat meals or various kinds of desserts for my family members. There are many places here that sell readytoeat food, some open in the morning, some in the evening, and even stalls set up along the roadside. Today, I have pictures of the market atmosphere and various shops, along with reviews of the food and desserts I bought.

Atmosphere of the Market

Grilled Pork with Sticky Rice

Sticky rice with grilled pork (Khao Niao Moo Ping) is a simple yet flavorful street food commonly found in Thai markets. It’s a convenient grab and go meal that’s both tasty and satisfying.

What’s So Good About It?

  • Aromatic Grilled Pork > The pork is marinated well, grilled to juicy perfection, and has a balanced sweet-salty flavor. Some vendors add coconut milk or spices for extra richness.

  • Soft, Warm Sticky Rice > Freshly steamed sticky rice has a chewy texture that pairs perfectly with the smoky pork.

  • Affordable & Convenient > Usually costs 5-10 THB (depending on portion size) and is widely available at markets or street stalls.

Steamed Buns and Mantou

Steamed Bun with Minced Pork & Boiled Egg Filling

  • This Thai-style savory steamed bun features > Fluffy, pillowy dough, Flavorful minced pork filling (seasoned with soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper) , Hearty boiled egg for extra texture , Affordable (10-20 THB each) , Great for breakfast or a quick snack.

Best enjoyed hot! Pair with sweet chili sauce for extra flavor

Mantou (หมั่นโถ) > steamed bun with Pillowy-soft texture, Mild taste** (not too salty/sweet), Budget-friendly (5-10 THB each), Easy to digest and Perfect for breakfast or light snacks!

Grilled Sticky Rice in Banana Leaves

  • Grilled sticky rice in banana leaves is a popular Thai snack found in local markets, coming in both sweet (banana filling) and savory (shrimp filling) versions.

  • Banana Filling (Sweet): > Fragrant from grilled leaves & ripe bananas, Naturally sweet with coconut-infused sticky rice, Crispy outside, chewy inside texture, Great as a light dessert

  • Shrimp Filling (Savory): > Rich umami flavor from marinated shrimp, Aromatic from herbs and grilling, More protein = more filling, Perfect as a quick meal

Whether you crave sweet or savory, these portable Thai treats deliver authentic flavors in every bite! The sweet version makes a perfect snack, while the savory one works well as a light meal.

Green Mango Salad

  • My favorite dish, only 25 baht! The main ingredients are green mango and roasted coconut. It’s a harmonious blend of sour, sweet, and salty flavors with the fragrant aroma of roasted coconut. The seasoning is absolutely delicious.

Khanom Piak Pun (Pandan Coconut Jelly)

Khanom Piak Pun is a traditional Thai dessert made from pandan-flavored jelly topped with grated coconut.

  • Why It's Great? > Refreshing pandan aroma, Soft, jelly-like texture, Rich coconut flavor, Naturally sweet (not overly sugary) , Affordable ( 5-10THB per piece) , Perfect for a light dessert after meals , an afternoon snack

Chocoballs

  • A sweet treat made from cake and chocolate. Finished cake is crumbled, mixed with melted chocolate, and shaped into balls. They’re then coated in another layer of chocolate and topped with sugar sprinkles. The rich, sweet chocolate flavor is irresistible. I’ll have to find a recipe and try making these myself—they’re easy and so tasty. My kids love them!

Here are just some of the foods and desserts I've bought to enjoy at home. Next time, I'll share more delicious local dishes from my area for all of you to see! 😄

I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by my post, and thank you for your support. Wishing you all a wonderful day!

I especially love the grilled meats that are at nearly every market I have ever been to. My favorite is the rolled up pork belly that has a bit of a spicy and salty shake mix they put on it after it is cooked. It is awesome that these things are only 10B / piece. I always leave the market with some of them, so delicious.

The food looks tempting and is packed aesthetically! The pandan for sure tastes delicious :D

Hello @piyamas. Believe me, I want to try them all. But I wonder if I can possibly do it in one go, perhaps I would be staying in that place for more than half a day if I decide to do so😇😂

Sending you Ecency curation votes.😉
