Hello hiver’s! Let me introduce myself again, I'm @ronimarie82 from the Philippines. For today’s blog let me share with you all our Sunday Church Time and a simple dinner eating barbeque after church last Sunday.
Last Sunday was the fifth Sunday or last Sunday of Lent season or (KWARESMA). Lent for Filipinos is the time to recall Jesus Christ’s passion, suffering, death and his resurrection.
As a Catholic it is very important to attend Holy Mass each sunday. We call it a Sunday of obligations. What I like the most about going to church besides we would wear dresses is the FACT that we get inside God's holy place and that is the Holy church. Ever since I was a kid every Sunday we go to church because my Mom trained me and guided me to give time To the LORD MY God. Now that I am a mom I do the same to my daughter’s too. Teaching them the importance of praising, thanking and adoring GOD besides asking and praying for our needs and requests .
Lent season started on ASH-Wednesday, March 5th and would end on Maundy Thursday also known as Holy Thursday ,April 17th, preparing for the celebration of Easter. Lent is a 40 day period, excluding Sundays, Lent is a time for repentance, reflection, giving of Alms and preparation for the celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection on Easter Sunday. During lent season the images in the church are covered with purple cloth. They would take off those clothes on Easter Sunday.
Usually we go to church in the morning time but because last Sunday I was doing or composing my blog for the week 152 challenge here on Asean HIVE,I told my daughters that we would go in the evening time. We attended the 7:30-8:30 evening Holy Mass but only my elder daughter and I attended because my youngest daughter is not feeling well.
Food Displays
After church, we felt starved and we decided to eat before going back home. There is a Barbeque stand along the highway that each time I pass by this stall there are lots of people. Among all the barbeque stalls nearby to us this is the only stall that is always full of people. So we chose this stall to eat barbeque for our dinner.
THE GRILLING area
When we arrived , the tables were full so we waited and sat in the waiting area. As expected, so many people are eating here and some order for takeout. Luckily the staff called us after fifteen minutes. He gives us a hand cignal to follow him and then he gives us a vacant table. I noticed that all the staff wear hairnet and they are so good at treating their customers even though they are so busy attending to all the customers.
CHOSE your order here:
Time to choose our order so I go in front. I picked 6 sticks of pork lean meat, 2 sticks of chicken feet, two sticks of chicken gizzard, 1 stick of chicken liver and also a Lomi soup. They would cooked your order, then served, but the LOMI they cooked it Infront so we saw how they cooked it. Lomi is a clear soup with noodles, meat, vegetables, egg, cornstarch and chicharron waited for a while before our order was served. As usual we pray before eating to thank God for his bountiful blessings.
Cooking Lomi
We appreciate and like the barbeque because it's tasty and I like their Lomi soup because it's delicious and with crispy small chicharon. Barbeque’s best partner is PUSU( Hanging Rice). The rice is put inside coconut leaves then cooked. We chatted while we ate and talked about the sermon of the Priest, until I remembered that I need to iron my daughters school uniform for tomorrow Monday they have class. After we were done eatingI told my daughter that we would go back home. We brought home some for my youngest daughter who was left home.
Honestly I like food stalls because they sell yummy, clean but affordable foods. Good to have when we are busy or don't have the energy or not in the mood of cooking. By the way, who are the barbeque lover's here? I hope their are hiver's who loves to eat barbeque here.
After eating I told my daughter, Now i know why so many people eat on this barbeque stall and it is because there barbeque and Lomi are yummy. That's is how you know they have good, yummy food if they have lots of costumers.
