Hello everyone,
Winter mornings often bring laziness, especially when paired with light rain like today. Deciding on breakfast was a challenge, but my kids' special request inspired me to turn this Sunday into a "Creative Sunday" by preparing Makki Atta Chilla—a dish that's both delicious and healthy. Loaded with vegetables, it was a big hit with my husband and daughters. Here's the recipe for this wholesome delight:

𝙄𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨:

Dry Ingredients:

2 cups maize flour (makki ka atta)

1 cup semolina (suji)

1 cup gram flour (besan)

1 tsp chili flakes

1 tsp black pepper powder

1 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp garam masala

1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)

1 tsp pink salt (or as per taste)

Vegetables (finely chopped):

1 Carrot

1 Onion

1 small piece Cabbage

1" Ginger piece

1/2 Capsicum

A generous amount of fresh coriander

𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙:

𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧:

Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Gradually add water to create a thin, smooth batter. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.

𝘼𝙙𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨:

Use a chopper for convenience to finely chop the vegetables. Mix them into the rested batter and adjust the salt if needed.

𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖:

Heat a non-stick tawa (griddle) and pour small portions of the batter to make mini pancakes. Cook on both sides until golden brown.

𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚:

Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.

This breakfast is not only a treat to the taste buds but also packed with nutrition, thanks to the wholesome ingredients and fresh vegetables. It’s perfect for a cozy winter morning, and my family absolutely loved it!

Try it out and let me know how it turned out for you!
