I am feeling little less energetic today due to hot weather. Its mid summer, too hot outside and getting hotter day by day. π°
I was not feeling like to make anything complicated today but wanted to give myself a simple and sweet cold treat hence thought to make Falooda. Its a simple yet tasty recipe and perfect to beat the summer heat.
Falooda is a dessert made with milk, vermicelli, basil seeds, rose syrup and icecream. We can add many more ingredients like choice of nuts, jellies, dried and fresh fruits etc. In the falooda.
As I mentioned, its a simple dish and doesn't require a lot of ingredients or preparation. Just few steps and you cool drink is ready.
So lets get started.
I am making two falooda flavours today, one is rose flavoured and another is mango flavoured. Bou icecream I will use mango flavoured only in both.
For making 4 glasses of Falooda, we need :
β Milk - 1/2 Litre
β Fresh Mangoes - 2 Pcs
β Basil Seeds - 4 Teaspoon
β Falooda Vermicelli - 100 Gm
β Cashew - 1/2 Cups
β Rose Syrup
β Icecream
β Sugar as required
β One extra mango for mango flavoured milk.
:: PREPARATION ::
Boil the vermicelli until it become soft.
Soak the basil seeds in the water. Basil seeds will swell and turn translucent and form gel like consistency.
Chop the cashew nuts into small pieces.
Wash 2 mangoes and chop into small pieces after removing the skin.
Wash another mango, remove pulp and grind it in milk along with some sugar to make mango flavoured milk.
:: LET'S ASSEMBLE FALOODA ::
First I am preparing mango flavoured falooda.
Take tall glass. Add mango pieces at the bottom.
Add boiled vermicelli.
Now add soaked basil seeds.
Add chopped cashew.
Add mango flavoured milk which we prepared by grinding the fresh mango pulp and sugar with milk.
Add icecream.
Top it with some more chopped cashews, mango pieces and rose syrup to make it colourful.
Finally our falooda will look like this.
For rose falooda, we will add rose syrup at the bottom of the glass, then vermicelli and soaked basil seeds, cashews and unflavoured milk and then mix it well so that rose syrup will mix well with milk. After that the steps will be same as mango falooda.
Our both falooda flavours are ready.
