You know, when I was a child, my mother would call me Ayobami. Let's go to the kitchen. I lived in a family where everyone was around. We are all going to be in the kitchen together and be doing everything my mom is doing together.
No one is useless in our house; even my father will be in the kitchen. Who taught you that you will not be in the kitchen when both my mom and my dad are in the kitchen cooking together? Honestly, we all love cooking, even if it's just onions alone. You have done something good. But you not doing anything at all is what my mom doesn't like.
In fact, if you are just in the kitchen with her, it's enough for her; she just doesn't like it when she's doing it alone. From this process, I've learned a lot from my mom.
My mom never sat me down and taught me how to do particular things formally. Everything was informal teaching, but it's more effective and useful.
I have never seen my mom or dad buy food outside, even though they are craving particular things. They will still make it by themselves. So we have all gotten to that type of thing. I meant, to some extent, I don't even know people used to eat outside. Because I never experienced it.
Even when Mom wasn't around, sometimes. I could remember very well then, and my older sister was already in school. I could remember how my dad would be in the kitchen, cooking the food we were both going to eat together. I do support him anytime he's trying to cook the food we want to eat together. From there, I know how to cook a lot of food.
When I grew up as an adult, I started living alone in 2013. And since then, I've been cooking myself. I mean, I find it extremely difficult to eat outside. I've got some reasons for not eating outside.
I've tried eating outside before, and believe me, I regret doing it most times.
People cooking outside are not as neat as you think; in fact, some of them are so dirty. And since they don't care, they will prepare anything for people to eat. I once bought food outside and saw human hair inside the food. Just imagine that kind of thing.
As if that wasn't enough. I've got a brother who works on the farm, where they rear chickens. This guy told me he would never eat chicken at any restaurant. I asked him why. He then explained further. The only chickens they sold to those restaurants were dead chickens. Maybe it was dead from sickness or more. The restaurant buys it from them purposely because they know that it will be very cheap, and since they will not eat out of it, they don't care if other people eat it.
Come to think of it, do we even know why people get sick and get a lot of sickness lately? I mean, there is more sickness among the youths lately. This is because of what the youth consumed.
Before I'm going to eat in any place, it will be because I'm craving that thing, and of course I trusted that brand. In fact, I've got a lot of trust issues, and believe me, I care so much about my health. I just don't want to consume anything that will make me feel extremely bad.
Meanwhile, whenever I eat outside, I don't get satisfaction, no matter what I eat outside. That is why I love to cook my own food.
