My 57th Instacart paycheck 💸 🛒
It was another week where the first half went terribly, but I had to find a way to keep my hopes up so that I'd be able to achieve my weekly earning goals. Despite a god-awful start to the week, things ended very well. Let's discuss.
Monday, February 19th
Tuesday, February 20th
No work
Wednesday, February 21st
The week has started out very slow so far. Sadly, I had one measly order on Wednesday, but nothing else after that.
I made about $47.30/hr on this day.
At least this was a new customer, so I may start getting them more often.
Thursday, February 22nd
No work
Friday, February 23rd
As you can see, this week as been atrocious in terms of Instacart orders. I had a massage appointment on Friday morning, so I wasn't able to turn the app online until around 1 pm. Then I sat around at home for 5 hours hoping to get something and never did until after 6pm when it was already dark.
I made about $46.25/hr on this day.
I don't like working when it's dark for several reasons. It's difficult to see, which sometimes makes finding houses not so simple. Some people don't know how to leave their porch light on for the delivery. Then more bad things tend to happen after dark. I'm also just tired by the time it's dark and I'd just rather be at home eating dinner.
I had a couple of orders but was disappointed with the day overall. I really hope that Saturday and Sunday offer me something big in terms of earnings.
Saturday, February 24th
Fortunately, on Saturday I was blessed with a few Instacart orders. The first of the day was one of my best regulars, Mr. Chief Beaver. That is indeed his name on his account. He's some retired old man who loves his 4 cats. Very nice guy and also super generous.
I made about $62.37/hr on this day.
The final two orders of the day were two more repeat customers. It's not often that I get a new customer to shop for anymore. When I do, I aim to do my absolute best so I can get a 5-star review. This is the only method I know of to ensure that I continually have orders. Otherwise, it's the Wild West out here in the world of Instacart.
Sunday, February 25th
Sunday came through clutch. I was busy all damn day and boy was I happy about that. Not only did I have orders non-stop from 9 am until 3:30 pm, but I also had two customers increase my tip by more than $10 each. The first one tasked me with getting there an hour early, I arrived 90 minutes early in the end. The other customer lived in a confusing apartment complex that was locked from the outside. I got in and out of there without any issues. I guess she was just happy that it was a stress-free experience.
I made about $49.84/hr on this day.
The only gap in orders was after my 12:22 pm order. I decided to come home and eat some lunch. I also managed to knock out shaving my head. It wasn't long before I had yet another order to complete. I finished the day strong on another $40+ order. It was exactly the type of work day I had wished for the night before when I was lying in bed about to fall asleep.
End of week hours and pay 🤑
My weekly pay was about $380 and I barely worked over 20 hours.
I made about $52.05/hr on average this past week.
Doing it again next week 👀
Instcart likes to play with your emotions. This job isn't for the weary. If you easily lose hope after having several bad days in a row, then you'll simply never be around when the good days are there. I show up basically every day of the week and just remain patient so that I'll be able to get the earnings that I need. Out of the 57 weeks that I've worked, I believe I've only had 2 weeks where I didn't reach my goal. The odds are in my favor and I never let myself forget that despite the bad days.
I hope you have enjoyed this insider look at what kind of pay is possible while working for Instacart.
