It's true that as humans, we have our basic needs that we can't do without in our daily lives. However, sometimes we prioritize things that are not as important over these basic necessities, only realizing our mistake later on. One example of this is how some people value their cell phones more than food. Personally, I would always choose food over my cell phone.

Since the era of mobile phones began, I have never been too interested in them. I remember when I went to the UK in 2009 and my brother offered to buy me an iPhone. I declined because I didn't want him to spend money on an expensive phone. Instead, I wanted to enjoy dining out, especially for Pakistani or Indian food, which I missed a lot in Egypt. This isn't just about cell phones, I don't give too much importance to material things like that. I have seen friends frequently upgrading their phones to new models, but I find it unnecessary. While cell phones are important now, there was a time when nobody knew about them, and people still lived happily.

On the other hand, food is something everyone struggles for, trying to provide for their families in the best way possible. I can't imagine a single day without food. Yes, I love food, but even thinking about it practically, food is essential. It gives us energy to work and enjoy life. During natural disasters, people worry about food and try to store as much as they can. People can't survive without food, but they can without cell phones.

As the youngest in my family, I used to watch my brothers stop eating when they were upset or when they didn't get something they wanted. They would protest by refusing to eat. It's funny because I have tried to do the same thing, but I can't go without food for more than a couple of hours. When I see everyone sitting down for a meal, I can't resist joining them for lunch or dinner. That's just who I am, I can't live without food for even a single day.

I recently experienced a couple of days without my phone because it was damaged. Honestly, I didn't feel bad or like something was missing in my life. In fact, I felt a bit of relief from the constant notifications and messages. That is why I would rather choose a day without my phone over a day without food.

In summary, it's important to think about what really matters in life and not get too caught up in things that aren't as essential. While cell phones are handy for staying connected, food is what keeps us alive and healthy. When it comes down to it, I would always choose food over a phone because it is what we truly need to survive.
