We are not dessert kind of persons but occasionally husband would suggest us to go for desserts, especially after a challenging week when youngest son recovered from his intestinal scar adhesion complications. Let's Dao!
Dao (Soybean)
This is soy-based dessert shop and fairly newly opened nearby our area, with other 9 outlets as well at other places. Its business is good because I guess it is Muslim friendly and majority of us can accept soybean which is advertised as being a healthy bean.
The one we went is located at Setapak.

Menu & Ambience
The menu is super simple.
It is a super cosy place to relax and hang out with family and friends. Beautifully decorated too to bring back nostalgia feeling. Although the shoplot is not super big but it is double-storey, hence sufficient for the amount of people.
By the time we went, it was already late and not most people had done their dessert and about to leave.
I got to enjoy every art painted by the owner and his family.
And there is a section non-aircond area for people who prefers fresh air. But no one was there that night.
What we ordered
The little one had just recovered so he only asked for plain soft serve soy ice cream. We all got to try one mouthful and oh my, it was so refreshing and pleasant to the palatte. You could really taste the fresh taste of soybean.
The eldest son ordered from the ice-shaved dessert section. It is soy shaved ice with brown sugar, red bean, tong yuen aka glutinous rice balls and Dao signature soy pudding on top, and it was served with brown sugar at the side for you to pour in according to the amount you desired. It was more than enough that the brown sugar could be shared with the youngest one for his soy soft serve.
My husband I ordered a cup of warm soy milk and a bowl of basic Dao Fu Fah. I really love their soymilk, so refreshing and thick taste of soy. Apparently they also use non-GMO soybeans and that's a super plus points.
The Dao Fu Fah was so soft silky smooth, well done to the team making it well done.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short dessert time, haha, actually we only had 40 minutes to hang out there before the shop closed for the day. Thank you, hubby for always generous to give a treat like that.❤️
