Travel Post 27 - Hong Kong Day Part 1: Dimsum Lunch

in TravelFeed8 days ago (edited)

Hello. Our travel post arrive in Hong Kong at the West Kowloon Station from the Shenzhen, China train. We meet up with a family friend and walk to our lunch location. Lunch was dimsum.

This post won't have too much text. It will be mostly pictures.

Some Pictures

The family friend shows us around the streets of Hong Kong. We head our way to lunch. As we were walking I managed to take a few pictures here and there.

There was one building that I thought was interesting. It was the Hong Kong location of Alliance Francaise. They are a French education franchise that teaches the French language and also has cultural events.

Dimsum Lunch Food

I don't know the location nor the name of this restaurant but I got some pictures of the lobby area. We had to take an elevator to an upper floor then go to the restaurant.

The restaurant at the time was not too busy for lunch. It was around 12PM Hong Kong time. We made a request to our Hong Kong friend for something decent but not too fancy like Maxim's Palace.

Roasted Pig/Pork + Rice Roll with Shrimp Inside
Roasted Pig/Pork
Not Tofu, I Think It’s Turnip Cake In Dice Form
BBQ Pork Bun
Don’t Remember This Item.
BBQ Pork Buns + Har Gow Shrimp Dumplings
Turnip Cake + Congee (Rice Porridge)

The dimsum at this place was good overall. I don't recall any dish being bad. The turnip cake was a bit different than the usual ones in Chinatown toronto. Turnip cake is usually flat and square versus this one being dice.

I also took some pictures of outside the restaurant through the window.

More Hong Kong day trip items and photos to come.

Thank you for reading.
