As I have already mentioned in previous posts, my mom came to the island to visit me for Christmas. And one of the things she most wanted to do, was to eat a plate of fried fish in the best beach style. That, among other things that I will tell you about later.

We had been thinking for a while about where to take her, since not everyone in the family eats seafood, and here on the island it is very common that the places where they sell fried fish do not sell any other type of meat, or if they do, they can be very expensive. After thinking many times, we remembered that we had been told several times about this restaurant. That it was very very good, and the food was not as expensive as elsewhere. The restaurant, called Punto Criollo, is located in the center of Porlamar and is easily accessible.

Teníamos rato pensando para dónde llevarla, ya que no todas en la familia comen cosas de mar, y aquí en la Isla es muy normal que los sitios donde venden pescados fritos, no vendan ningún otro tipo de carne, o si lo hacen, pueden ser muy costosos. Después de pensar muchas veces, recordamos que nos habían dicho en varias oportunidades de este restaurante. Que era muy muy bueno, y la comida no era tan costosa como en otros lados. El restaurante, llamado Punto Criollo, queda por el centro de Porlamar y es de fácil acceso.

With that in mind, we went there, first asking if they accepted Luna, my dog, and if she could enter, since it is a requirement for all the places we go to, that she can enter. Besides, she doesn't even sit, she is extremely calm. The man who was going to serve us, we already knew him from another restaurant, and very kindly told us that if it was the same dog he had met, there was no problem.

Con esa idea, fuimos para allá, primero preguntando si aceptaban a Luna, mi perrita, y que si ella podía entrar, ya que es un requisito para todos los sitios a los que vamos, que ella pueda entrar. Además, ella ni se siente, es extremadamente tranquila. El señor que nos iba a atender, ya lo conocíamos de otro restaurante, y muy amablemente nos dijo que si era la misma perrita que él había conocido, no había problema.

We all placed our order, my mom obviously ordered her fried fish which she enjoyed like never before, and I ordered some noodles in white sauce with shrimp. The sauce had a spectacular flavor, the shrimp were very tasty, but the bad thing is that the sauce although it was tasty, it was very dry, which made me not enjoy my dish 100%.

Todas hicimos nuestro pedido, mi mamá obviamente pidió su pescado frito que lo disfrutó como nunca, y yo pedí unos fideos en salsa blanca con camarones. La salsa tenía un sabor espectacular, los camarones estaban muy ricos, pero lo malo es que la salsa aunque estaba rica, estaba muy seca, cosa que me hizo no disfrutar al 100% mi plato.

In general the restaurant is not fancy, it is more familiar than anything else, they have a variety that even sell pizza, chicken, meats, fish and seafood. It is quite complete, and the truth is that despite my not perfectly good experience, I quite liked the taste of the food. So probably at some point I will go and give it that second chance that it certainly deserves 🤣.

En general el restaurante no es de lujo, es más familiar que cualquier cosa, tienen variedad que hasta pizza venden, pollo, carnes, pescados y mariscos. Es bastante completo, y la verdad que a pesar de mi experiencia no perfectamente buena, me gustó bastante el sabor de las comidas. Así que probablemente en algún momento vaya y le dé esa segunda oportunidad que sin duda, se merece 🤣.
