¡Hola! Espero que estén bien y que hayan tenido un inicio de semana estupendo. Hoy vengo a contarles acerca de mi experiencia visitando un restaurante que se inauguró el pasado diciembre muy cerca de mi casa, en la entrada de la urbanización donde vivo, es un restaurante de nombre peculiar y gracioso "Pollo Gordo" ya que ese es el elemento que predomina en su menú, el cual consta de combos de comida basados en raciones de pollo a la broaster o asados acompañados de guarniciones de yuca, arepas, papas fritas, ensalada, salsa tártara y refresco, pero no solo sirven pollo sino pizzas, hamburguesas y, debido a que el restaurante tiene cierto toque oriental, también sirven el popular arroz chino que tanto agrada a los venezolanos.

Today I come to tell you about my experience visiting a restaurant that opened last December very close to my house, at the entrance of the urbanization where I live, it is a restaurant with a peculiar and funny name “Pollo Gordo” since that is the predominant element in its menu, which consists of food combos based on portions of broaster or roasted chicken accompanied by yucca, arepas, french fries, salad, tartar sauce and soda, but they not only serve chicken but also pizzas, hamburgers and, because the restaurant has a certain oriental touch, they also serve the popular Chinese rice that Venezuelans like so much.
El restaurante es bastante amplio y su decoración recuerda de cierta manera a la de Pollos Arturo's, por sus colores corporativos, sin embargo tiene muchos elementos asiáticos en su decoración, los cuales no contrastan porque mantienen la misma paleta de colores. las mesas están bien distribuidas y los meseros son bastante amables y atentos.
The restaurant is quite spacious and its decoration is somewhat reminiscent of Pollos Arturo's, due to its corporate colors, however it has many Asian elements in its decoration, which do not contrast because they maintain the same color palette. The tables are well distributed and the waiters are quite friendly and attentive.
Lo que no me gustó fue la atención de la chica que trabaja en la caja, era bastante antipática y para colmo aunque los precios están sujetos a la tasa oficial y por lo tanto legal del Banco de Venezuela, no están basados en dólares estadounidenses, como en todas partes en mi país (Venezuela) sino en euros, lo que hace que el precio se eleve aún más.
What I did not like was the attention of the girl working at the cash desk, she was quite unfriendly and to top it off, although the prices are subject to the official and therefore legal rate of the Bank of Venezuela, they are not based in US dollars, like everywhere else in my country (Venezuela) but in euros, which makes the price even higher.
Una vez que mi hermana y yo hicimos el pedido nuestra orden tardó bastante tiempo en estar lista, sin embargo, según mi hermana (que ha trabajado como chef en restaurantes) esa es una buena señal, ya que significa que estaban preparando el pollo en ese momento y que no era recalentado, como sucede muchas veces en otros restaurantes. Repito, la actitud de los meseros era muy amable, constantemente nos hacían entender que nuestra orden fue atendida y que cuando se proyectara nuestro número en una pantalla, podríamos ir a retirarla.
Once my sister and I placed our order it took quite some time for our order to be ready, however, according to my sister (who has worked as a chef in restaurants) that is a good sign, since it means that they were preparing the chicken at that moment and that it was not reheated, as it happens many times in other restaurants. Again, the attitude of the waiters was very friendly, they constantly made us understand that our order was taken care of and that when our number was projected on a screen, we could go and pick it up.
Nosotros no íbamos a comer dentro del restaurante, ya que nuestra orden fue para llevar, pero me gustó mucho ver lo limpio que estaba todo, las mesas incluso eran constantemente limpiadas y desinfectadas por los meseros, así que las personas podían tener la plena seguridad de que estaban comiendo en un lugar seguro.
We were not going to eat inside the restaurant, as our order was to go, but I was very pleased to see how clean everything was, the tables were even constantly cleaned and sanitized by the waiters, so people could be fully assured that they were eating in a safe place.
Me gustó el empaque, es muy practico y fácil de transportar, además guarda el calor de forma muy eficiente. La comida fue separada en dos empaques, uno para el pollo y otro para la guarnición. Todo estaba muy pero muy delicioso, aunque debo mencionar que el pollo estaba un poco simple, sin embargo es preferible así a que esté salado. Ahh y nos dimos cuenta que además de la salsa tártara también incluyeron un botecito con ketchup para las papas 😃 ¡Qué rico!
I liked the packaging, it is very practical and easy to transport, it also keeps the heat in a very efficient way. The food was separated into two packages, one for the chicken and one for the garnish. Everything was very, very delicious, although I must mention that the chicken was a little plain, however it is preferable that way than salty. Ahh and we noticed that in addition to the tartar sauce they also included a small jar of ketchup for the potatoes 😃 Yummy!
Y bien, la verdad es que en términos generales a mi me gustó mucho ese lugar y creo que volvería, aunque mi hermana no tuvo tan grata experiencia, pero de eso ella ya habló o va a hablar en su blog. Muchas gracias a todos por su atención, nos vemos en otra oportunidad. 😘
