When it comes to food, yes, I am a foodie but not a glutton. You know, there is a difference between being a foodie and a glutton. The only difference I see there is that the former takes time to select the right nutrients while the latter goes for whatever they see without minding if it's poisoned or not. I love food a lot!

My journey into loving food began when I started learning how to prepare food for the family. I would watch my mom in the kitchen as she does her magic with different recipes and all turn out to become something you wouldn't want it to finish. Many times, the deliciousness of a food is determined by how I wish the food shouldn't get finished on the plate like some sort of magic should keep the food as it is without getting reduced when I keep taking each spoon into my mouth.
Food is good and important to the body, so check out for the right proportion or nutrient to give you the required result. We all are taught the six classes of food during our primary school days which some give energy to the body and that is carbohydrates, the ones that build one's body – protein and so on. Right from time, I have always been conscious of my body, especially knowing how food impacts one's physique. To gain weight, you eat much and to reduce weight, you eat less. I still don't know how true this is because for some months now, I have been eating less, trying to watch my weight just to reduce the fat in my stomach but it seems food isn't doing its work. So, I returned to eating as much as I could daily, forgetting my goal of reducing the fat in my body.

One bad habit that has grown with me is not eating at the right time until my stomach starts grumbling and the worms are fighting so hard for survival. It is until I am extremely hungry that I can think of entering into the kitchen to look for something to eat.
Someone said cooking a lot of food and going too deep into it is so stressful which is true. There are days I would feel like going through the stress without minding how exhausted I would be later. By then, any other thing on my list would be left pending for another time when I am fully okay. I only do this when I am craving for something which I know won't be easier for me and it's okay by me. But when it's just to prepare something light that doesn't need much drama in it, I can always do this every day i.e. preparing our almighty concoction rice or spaghetti.
I am a minimalist and I select the right recipe which doesn't cost too much and I would be okay after that. There are simple recipes that don't require much time to prepare just like this delicious meal you are staring at right now. It is called Irish potato sauce. It was made by my sister on one of my visit to her place.

I love to choose my meal and do not think of eating out as it costs more money than doing everything all by yourself and you will still have some to last for some days. Going to a restaurant, though it's something nice which is to take yourself out for a treat while enjoying another taste different from yours, it is important not to make it a habit to eat out daily as that can take lots of money from you when you could have saved it after buying raw foods to prepare by yourself.
Even when I am a foodie, I only eat once or twice daily. The only reason I would eat twice is when I eat early, let's say like 8 am and that only happens on rare occasions, like when I have some leftovers from the previous night and I need to clear the pot away. But when I have pushed myself to eat late during the day, the only thing is to keep drinking water which would have filled me up to not think of eating any other thing again.
"Your husband does not need to work extra hard for food because you don't eat too much" words that I hear a lot of times, I will only smile and let them know I will change when I get married and start to have my kids. Not eating much is because I am still single and since I know I am living alone, I eat when I need to and not when I have to because I am not one of a junk lover except I crave something which happens once in a while.
I believe I have been able to take you through my journey as a food lover but doesn't like eating too much.
These are the recipes and how to prepare the above irish potato sauce.
Ingredients:
Potatoes (irish or sweet but irish is better), carrots, ball peppers (yellow, red, green), sausage, pepper, spring onions, onions, seasonings (salt, maggi, curry, thyme, ginger, garlic), parsley leaves.
Cut all the veggies and sausage. Put them in a bowl but don't add the parsley leaves.
Add all the seasonings to marinate the veggies for at least 20 minutes.
While waiting for the veggies to get marinated, boil your potatoes. Don't let it get fully cooked yet. Get them out of the hot water.
Once the veggies are marinated, put your pot on fire, put some oil to become hot. Pour the marinated veggies and stir for 2 minutes.
Add the already-boiled potatoes and let it cook up. Check if you may need to add a little water. Taste if the seasonings are okay.
Serve to eat.
