As my username suggests, my name is Jon. I'm currently living in North Carolina, but I’ve been fortunate to travel and live in other areas in the US and abroad. Despite all my traveling, I absolutely love eastern North Carolina and hope to call it home for many years to come.
I hope to even write about North Carolina here on Steemit.

I’m teacher, writer, editor, and business owner, among other things. Happily married to a beautiful wife, as seen in all my pictures.
Although life has been difficult at times, I’ve been able to carve my own path in life, earning a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a master’s degree in English.
I used those degrees to help me travel abroad, teaching English in Thailand. While there, I also traveled to Vietnam, Laos, China and Japan.

I hope to get a lot out of Steem. Over the past year, I’ve been able to establish myself on the Scorum Sports blockchain platform. It’s been an absolute thrill posting and getting to know people on Scorum from all over the world.
Taking what I learned from Scorum, I hope to apply it here, although I’m learning quickly that both sites are vastly different.
I have lots of passions, and I hope Steem gives me the opportunity to write about and connect with people who share those passions.
My plan is to continue to post Sports content on Scorum and share them on SportsTalkSocial. As for Steemit proper, I hope to be able to branch outside of sports and cover a wider variety of topics.

Some of those topics I’m interested in writing about here include traveling, photography, literature, creative writing, sci-fi, paranormal, UFOs, the phenomenon, ancient history and more.
Yes, that’s right, I’m a total junkie for anything alien, paranormal or ufo related. For the sake of brevity, I won’t go into my deep and passionate love for aforementioned topics—that will be a post for another day—but I will say you should expect a lot of fun content from me covering a wide array of different subjects.
I'll leave it here for now. I'm looking forward to getting to know lots of you and establishing myself on Steemit. Here's to a bright blockchain future.
