In general, I find the entire concept of going back and forth with daylight saving time starting and ending... pretty terrible. There's clear data showing how much damage it causes to people, both economically and in terms of health. Accidents increase, people lose productivity, etc. The fact that it's still practiced in many parts of the world is kind of absurd.
But... it was beneficial to me overnight, since I was working. Since the clock jumped ahead by an hour, I lost an hour of work. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
OK, now that I managed to reap the last benefit I can possibly get from it (since I'm not planning to work any more night shifts in future years), feel free to abolish this nonsense, Trump administration. We both agree on its lack of utility and inefficiency.
In the meantime, remember to wind forward your clocks one hour!
Well, I managed to come back from work early the past 2 days. How is that possible?
Since I'm working on admitting patients overnight, and our admissions end at 6:30 a.m. (shift technically ends at 7 a.m.), if we're on track to not get any admissions by 6:30 a.m., then we leave by around that time. Yesterday I left at 6:23 a.m., and today at about 6:40 a.m. That was quite nice, especially given the fact that the next 3 days I'll likely be leaving closer to 8 a.m., since we're presenting our admissions on weekdays (what a pain in the butt!).
A good piece of news... I was guaranteed that my night shifts would be covered while I'm taking the board review course over the next two Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I'd be able to get Thursday night through Sunday night off. This is a big plus since I actually want to get the most out of this course.
The only remaining problem is that harsh transitions from night --> day --> night --> day --> night again. That's going to be destructive to my physical health for a short while, but it's temporary... I'll make it through.
So, after coming home, I set some ultimatums for my new team on the AITA community, because this is now a business and I expect them to work! Updated my liquidity pools, trades, and completed other minor Hive things.
Now, I'm sitting here writing this post, on the verge of falling asleep on my keyboard. If I manage to stay awake, I'll do my daily stretches, go eat, and then straight to bed. Exercise has been off the table this week because of the extensively long work hours... my mind and body are just not willing to participate. This rough patch will be over soon...!
