Rice is Important

I can't live without rice in my life. Rice is a very important food in our lives. Ever since I started eating by myself, there has always been rice on my dinner table.

I love all kinds of rice, including short-grain, medium-grain, long-grain, brown, and black rice. I eat rice almost every lunch and dinner. When I was in elementary school, our final-year project was to plant and grow rice in a greenhouse. It was a very interesting challenge, and I really appreciate all the farmers who grow rice.

I couldn't find my usual short-grain rice at the local supermarket, so I went to a bigger supermarket the other day. I saw many different types of rice on the shelf in the Asian section. I decided to buy Sakura Japonica rice, made in Taiwan. The package looked so pretty. It wasn’t cheap, but I’m glad I bought it. It was labelled GMO-free, which made me feel better about the purchase.

I read some news about the shortage of Japanese rice. It's really hard for people when they can’t get rice. Koshihikari is such a famous brand in Japan. I want to buy it next time.

Botan rice also looked very pretty. I’d love to try it someday in the future. I really like the design on the package.

Kokuho Rose looks so classic and cool. The package was a bit too small for me, but it looked delicious as well. I love the design with the sword and the Kokuho logo.

This is my typical dinner plate. I also have a bowl of rice and miso soup, but sometimes I serve everything together like this on one plate. This rice is 16-grain rice, which goes well with tuna steak and vegetables.

White rice is great with beef stew and vegetables.

IMG_1915.jpeg

IMG_1912.jpeg

There's a shortage in rice right now, and some of my friends saw there's already a mixed rice (XX% Japanese rice, XX% other country) being sold in the supermarket. I haven't tried it myself yet. We're lucky we still have Japanese rice left in our stock.
Your dinner looks so western but also Japanese! 😅

Totally!! 笑

I'm sorry about the rice shortage in Japan. It's not nice to feel uncertain about food. I'm glad you have enough stock now. Yeah, my dish looks like a 'Wayou Secchuu' fusion style.😄

I am in love with rice very much myself. Totally agree!

Thank you! Yeah, rice gives us gentle, but powerful energy! 🍚

Same, same, in the Philippines even breakfast consist of rice. I mean, rice really taste good with every dishes out there so who won't love it right ✨💃

Yeah! In Japan, too, a lot of people eat rice for breakfast. 🍚
It's such a healthy lifestyle, isn't it?! I remember my grandfather used to have rice, miso soup, and fish almost every morning. People in Asian cultures definitely love rice!
