Having fish today! seasoned with lots of herbs is way so delicious that makes me want to eat more with rice. This is a simple Filipino dish that my mother used to prepare during my childhood days.
Malaga fish is cultured in ponds and coastal areas in our province of pangasinan.
I love herbs so I added, more than required.
In here, I used lemon grass, onion leaves, ginger, coarse black peppercorns, garlic and tomato. I also placed fish in a banana leaf to add extra taste and also province feel-like.
I would like to share how I prepare my boiled steam fish or oang
Ingredients:
Malaga fish 1kg. Small-med
Herbs
Lemon grass
Tomato 1 pc. Med
Ginger 3-4 inches crushed
Garlic 3 pcs. Crushed
Black peppercorns 1tbspn coarse
Onion leaves 3 roots
This is a one pot dish, so basically we put altogether in a container, adding a 1/2 cup of water , seasoned with salt, let it boil till fish is tender and the aromas of fresh herbs goes to fish or simmer under med-low fire for 20 minutes.
Try this simple easy dish and let me know how it goes. It's full of fresh herbs and goodness, A tasty- meaty perfect match with warm rice.
