Samgyupsal is a Korean native way of eating wherein people grill meat (i.e beef, pork, or chicken) in the dinner table while they eat. It's best paired with lots of side dishes, mostly vegetables, and enjoyed with family and friends.
Due to my strong cravings for samgyupsal and out of curiosity, I impulsively dine at Migag Unlimited Samgyupsal alone.
Compared to other Samgyupsal restaurants, Migag is cheaper in price (about 50% lesser). However, their side dishes are fewer too. Today, they serve kimchi, pechay, cucumber salad, raddish, sauted egg plant, boiled potatoes, and sweet potato chips.
Honestly, I've never been shy to eat in a restaurant by myself because it gives me a feeling of liberation to do things at my own pace. But while i was eating, I realized that this kinds of dish is best shared with friends. It's not enjoyable to do alone. Plus, I was worried I might not finish the whole set haha. Thankfully, i managed to empty most of the side dished and left a few uncooked meat in the end. My secret when eating on a buffet set up has always been the same- skip the rice! (so you can have more meat and side dishes)
The Verdict. I didn't enjoy their pork because it's mostly fat and only a few parts are meat. I also didn't like that they use butane gas to grill the meat as it is quite dangerous. I saw a viral post in Facebook wherein the gas exploded. Their side dishes weren't that tasty too, in my opinion. Given the chance to come back again, maybe I'd skip this restaurant and try something else. Overall, their service is in proportionate with its price. Regardless, I had fun with my little adventure of satisfying my curiosity.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
