First of all, happy Easter to those that celebrate. I hope you have/had a good Easter. I had a wonderful weekend playing pickleball; in fact, I played everyday this whole week so I will probably try to tone it down a bit this following week. I even had hotpot on Saturday to celebrate the birthday of the only friend I have kept in contact from my university days.
Anyways with the quick summary of my weekend out of the way, I want to head towards the juicy topic. Given the choice of learning first aid, how to play a music instrument, a new language or how to cook at expert level, I would choose to learn to cook at an expert level.
Let's start off with why I didn't choose the other options to learn. I think learning first aid isn't too hard and I could probably finish that in one class. As for learning to play a music instrument, I don't think it's that practical for my life. It's something that could be a hobby for me but I don't really have any passion to learn a music instrument even though I love listening to music. In the end, it was a tough choice between language and cook. I ended up not choosing language because I've been surviving in Malaysia without good Malay or Chinese. I also thought nowadays with the technology, it's easy to translate and get the meaning of different kinds of languages.
Cooking was the go to choice as I am a foodie and and it's one of my bucket lists in life to be a good cook. I also feel that cooking is more practical for my life now and in the long run. I love watching clips of master chef and other food videos. I think being able to cook at an expert level comes with great perks as well. At an expert level, I'd imagine I'd be able to make desserts like Reynold Poernomo and cook like a beast like Gordon Ramsey. I would be able to cook most of my favorite foods at home. I think it would also give me some plus points as boyfriend material. I would be one of the favorite people to invite for potlucks. There's also a possibility of opening a restaurant as well if I was an expert level cook.
How about you? Which would you choose?
