Los planes poco planificados que involucren comida sin duda son de mis favoritos. El día de ayer (viernes 09 de febrero), luego del gym, mi amada amiga Mariajosé me hace la invitación de ir por un café al C.C Sambil de la Candelaria, que queda justo al frente del gym, ya que llegué con mucho sueño a entrenar y por eso tuvo la bonita iniciativa de invitarme un café. Pero, le propuse cambiar el plan, ya que iban a ser las 6pm, y a mi particularmente, no me gusta tomar café a esas horas.
Unplanned plans involving food are without a doubt one of my favourites. Yesterday (Friday, February 9th), after the gym, my beloved friend Mariajosé invited me to go for a coffee at the Sambil de la Candelaria shopping centre, which is right in front of the gym, since I was very sleepy after training and that's why she had the nice initiative to invite me for a coffee. But, I proposed to change the plan, as it was going to be 6pm, and I don't particularly like to drink coffee at that time of day.
A ella no le desagradó la idea, de hecho tenía antojo de unas hamburguesitas, yo lo que fuese pero calientito porque el frío que hacía era terrible, jajaj. Dimos una vuelta por la Feria, hasta que me llamó la atención unas personas comiendo unos Shawarmas, cabe destacar que se veían muy buenos y le dije a María que nos acercaramos para ver los precios. Sinceramente, son bastante accesibles y por supuesto, nos quedamos allí. Al momento de pagar, la cajera recomendó una promo de dos Shawarmas, con papas fritas y refresco por 10$ (cosa que no habíamos visto en el menú) y nosotras contentas porque la cuenta salió un pelín más barata. De hecho, nos hemos dado cuenta que tenemos la habilidad de conseguir muy buenas promos de comida en sitios bastante cheveres😅.
Esperamos unos 10 o 15min cuando mucho para que nos entregaran el pedido, y a primera instancia todo se veía increíble! Me gustó mucho la presentación y el hecho de que colocaran tres tipos de salsas para cada una que estaban divinas (el clásico humus, salsa de tomate para las papas y una salsa de ajo súper rica). Cuando abrimos el Shawarma, no imaginan el olor tan sobraso que desprendió, ya con solo eso las dos sabíamos que nos iba a encantar, y claramente no nos decepcionó. Tenía una auténtica sazón árabe, los pedimos mixto y la carne estaba súper suave, se sentían los vegetales frescos, y untado con el humus o la salsa de ajo sabía todo aún mejor. Nos encantó la experiencia, el sabor, las texturas (las papas también estuvieron en su punto), ya tenemos ese lugar fijo para cualquier otra ocasión. De la gastronomía árabe amo que todo es súper sano, las comidas completas, así que creo que mejor no pudimos elegir, porque además, acompañamos la comida con una amena conversación...
She didn't dislike the idea, in fact she was craving for some hamburgers, I was craving for anything but warm because it was freezing cold, hahahah. We walked around the Fair, until I noticed some people eating Shawarmas, they looked really good and I told Maria that we should go and see the prices. Honestly, they were quite affordable and of course, we stayed there. When it was time to pay, the cashier recommended a promo of two Shawarmas, with fries and soft drink for 10$ (something we hadn't seen on the menu) and we were happy because the bill came out a bit cheaper. In fact, we have found that we have the ability to get very good deals on food in very cheap places😅.
We waited about 10 to 15 minutes at most for our order to be delivered, and at first glance everything looked amazing! I really liked the presentation and the fact that they had three types of sauces for each one which were divine (the classic hummus, tomato sauce for the potatoes and a super tasty garlic sauce). When we opened the shawarma, you can't imagine the leftover smell it gave off, we both knew we were going to love it, and it clearly didn't disappoint. It had an authentic Arabic flavour, we ordered it mixed and the meat was super soft, you could feel the fresh vegetables, and spread with the hummus or garlic sauce it tasted even better. We loved the experience, the flavour, the textures (the potatoes were just right too), we already have this place fixed for any other occasion. I love the Arabic cuisine, everything is super healthy, the meals are complete, so I think we couldn't have made a better choice, because in addition, we accompanied the meal with a pleasant conversation...
