In Georgia/Armenia it's more a Soviet tradition to drink things like cognac, vodka, or wine. I'm not surprised though, they really warm you up in those winter months when it's freezing outside. I do miss a cold beer on a warm day though. Fortunately it's spring already in Tbilisi
I haven't been to Georgia yet, but it seems there are some options ;) Here are the first few Google results for "Craft brewery in Georgia". The ratings seem outstanding to me.
