One of the beauties of cultural differences that I have found funny is in food. While in some climes, the mention of 'porridge' is usually associated with grain based foods, in other cultures, it can be anything mixed.
The porridge we know in west Africa is made of yam but I tried something different. The food is primarily a combination of unripe plantain with beans. It is unusual because many people prefer ripe plantain with beans.
While it is more tasty having it with ripe plantain, the nutritional value are not same. Can you tell the difference? Anyway, I made sure to add a little scent leaves to it. It was really yummy.
