Hello everyone. Good day and welcome to my blog at this hour. It's weekend once again. That day of the week we always look forward to for our personal needs such as going to the gym, going hiking with friends, playing video games, going for picnics, seeing movies, attending parties, doing house chores and so on. We all have that activity that we look forward to using our weekend to accomplish. It could even be to watch your favorite team play or to go for shopping. Sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.
So, this afternoon I was craving freshly made masa and suya. Masa and Suya is peculiar to the Northern part of Nigeria and it is a delicious snacks to have. Masa is made from rice and its fried after all the process have been undergone. It kinda tastes like Nigerian Puff Puff. The fusion of suya and masa in the mouth is heavenly, it's a taste that cannot be forgotten in a long time. To cap it up, use a bottle of cold beer to step it down.
Suya sellers are often called Mai suya and they sell almost throughout the day in the North unlike in the West where I grew up that they sell only at night. It was somewhat strange to me when I got to the North newly and I saw suya being sold during broad day light. I'm used to buying suya late in the night and there are not as many spot as there are here in the North.
There are various types of suya and the common ones are chicken suya, beef suya and goat meat suya. From my experience so far, the best type of suya that have eaten is made from chicken - a fleshy chicken. It's super yummy.
The mass and suya are often packed in a foil paper with cabbage, onions, tomatoes and cucumber.
