Friday. Since today is a holiday, everyone is at home, except for my sister who's traveling in Japan.
My agenda for today is to cook shrimp for my family. We usually take turns on cooking our meals and since I don't have work today, I decided to take my turn. But first, I had my breakfast, brewed coffee and a slice of mango.
Market Day came a little early so we had restocked some of our fresh produce at home.
One of our staples includes Cantalope and mangoes. These tropical fruits are now in the season. Maybe I should make some ice candy with these fruits to beat the heat this summer. For now, I prepared some sliced fruits as breakfast.
Finally, it's now time to cook the shrimp. Recently, Ben and I went to eat at this Bucket Shrimp restaurant and their shrimp was really delicious. It's a bucket shrimp in Cajun sauce. So I thought of cooking that dish for today's menu.
Ingredients:
.Shrimp
.Korean Gochujang paste
.soy sauce
.minced garlic and onion
Simply mixed and saute all the ingredients together and wait until cooked. Enjoy! :)
Since today is a good Friday, pork is not allowed in our tradition. For dinner time, we decided to order chicken from 24 Chicken. We decided to have their original garlic, and Jack Daniel flavors.
One thing I notice is their change in minced garlic. They used to serve fresh minced garlic but now, they've microwaved it already.
Today was full of cooking and eating. I guess there's no dieting on holidays.
May you all have a restful and meaningful holidays, everyone! Don't forget to pray and spend time with your love ones.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
