Thank God it's Friday! My dear Hivers, I've been looking forward for the weekend ahead. To conclude the tiring work week that has been, my officemate and I went for some Japanese comfort food plus dessert.
This restaurant is located conveniently inside the mall's food court. Could you believe that? Amazing, isn't it? My friend ordered
The chicken karaage Bento Box, while I ordered the tonkatsu variant.
While eating our meal, I noticed this cute "clay-go" (clean as you go) robot that roams around collecting used plates and utensils. This initiative makes me feel like I'm truly in Japan.
For the food, I must say that their tonkatsu is just a so-so. I didn't enjoy the sauce as much and find it more of the sweeter side than the umami. I also find their serving quite disappointing. The 3D display of their menu was huge. But in reality, the serving is just good for one.
After our sumptuous dinner, my friend ordered a Halo-Halo Ice cream in ube flavor. The unique thing about this Halo-Halo is that instead of shaved ice, they used shaved evaporated milk to add a thicker and creamier touch. They also added a generous amount of ube yam and leche flan.
Because the serving was quite large, we shared the halo halo over some good conversation. Sometimes, at the end of a busy week, we all need that one friend whom we can share anything with no judgement.
We went for a quick grocery run nearby and bought some fresh fruits and yogurt for my friend's weekly supply. I bought some unhealthy instant noodles so I'd have a snack at the office. Two different people, I know.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
