Happy saturday Hivers!
I'm back again with the new sea adventure together with my family. My husband was away for several days and next week too so we decided to have a little picnic by the seashore today.
These are the foods I prepared for our family picnic. I'm gonna flex some of it because it's special. My husband just cook noodles with cabbage as our viand and steamed hotdogs for the kids. I bought soy sauce for the hotdogs since we don't have a ketchup today and I never forget the chili.
Yesterday as I was thinking what foods to bring in the picnic I searched at the online black market community in Facebook in our island and I saw some delicious foods. This one is a sweet corn. I just cut it once to make it shorter because we have a very small cooking pot for rice. This is a type of corn but this is yellow in color and it is sweet. Sweeter than the white one. I just steamed this for 20 minutes and the left water I drink it because it's a herbal medicine.
I also bought it via online market. This is called puto cassava. This is made from a ground cassava with coconut milk and young coconut scrapes. It has brown sugar on top that blends along when you started eating it.
This one, we call it budbud, it is a sticky rice with coconut milk and sugar to flavor. It is then rolled to coat with banana leaves and then steamed.
The seawater is very far today so we decided to eat and wander around and wait for the water to move nearer to us.
We enjoyed the foods, the view and we had conversations about last week. My husband has been far away for 4 days and we are talking about how he spend the day at the sport fest with a runny nose and a head ache.
About an hour of waiting the seawater is nearer so I plunged to the water. Not so cold and not hot as clouds are covering some parts of the sea. For me its a perfect time because the waves are calm. Then we decided to go home after 2 hours there because I have work to be done and my husband will have to rest because he has a duty hours in the evening.
It was a wonderful day and I got refreshed from weeks of staying inside our house. Thank you so much for reading my blog up until here. Wishing you had a great weekend hivers!
