En una nueva travesía por Café Don Elías se me terminó atravesando en el camino el sándwich de la casa. Hasta el momento no había visto este sándwich en el menú, posiblemente es nuevo o tal vez ya formaba parte de él y simplemente no se había encontrado disponible. Realmente solo iba con intención de tomar café luego de una jornada extremadamente agotadora de trabajo, pero apenas vi el sándwich mi estómago decidió que, quizás, tenía algo de hambre.
El pan de este sándwich es propio del Café Don Elías, es un pan bastante suave y con el toque perfecto de orégano. En cuanto al relleno, es bastante básico, como uno de esos sandwiches caseros que a veces a uno le da antojo de preparar. Queso amarillo, jamón, tomate, lechuga, mostaza y ketchup, ¿qué puede salir mal? es una merienda bastante sustanciosa, si te pones a ver y por un costo de ¿$3,80? sí mal no recuerdo. La chica que me atendió me preguntó si deseaba que tostara un poco el pan, le dije que no pero luego de que di el primer bocado me retracté de la idea. Ese toque tostado hubiese estado de maravilla.
El complemento perfecto fue la frase en el café que me hizo reir un montón porque sí, quizás es el café el que es adicto a mí, pero no se crean, últimamente no he tenido demasiado tiempo de disfrutar tardes de café. Entré el trabajo y el gimnasio no es que me quede mucho tiempo para sentarme en una cafetería durante la semana. Por eso quizás es que valoré tanto este momento al inicio de la semana.
In a new journey through Café Don Elías, the house sandwich ended up crossing my path. So far I had not seen this sandwich on the menu, possibly it is new or maybe it was already part of it and simply had not been available. I was really just going in with the intention of having coffee after an extremely exhausting day at work, but as soon as I saw the sandwich my stomach decided that, perhaps, I was a little hungry.
The bread for this sandwich is from Café Don Elías, it is a very soft bread with the perfect touch of oregano. As for the filling, it's pretty basic, like one of those homemade sandwiches you sometimes feel like making. Yellow cheese, ham, tomato, tomato, lettuce, mustard and ketchup, what can go wrong, it's a pretty hearty snack if you look around and for a cost of $3.80, if I remember correctly. The girl who served me asked me if I wanted her to toast the bread a little, I said no but after I took the first bite I retracted the idea. That toasted touch would have been wonderful.
The perfect complement was the phrase in the coffee that made me laugh a lot because yes, maybe it's the coffee that's addicted to me, but don't believe it, lately I haven't had too much time to enjoy coffee afternoons. Between work and the gym, it's not like I have much time left to sit in a coffee shop during the week. So maybe that's why I valued this moment so much at the beginning of the week.
