Its so hot here in bengaluru nowadays. No mood to go out and all the veggies are drying so quick without fridge. Yes, i dont have refrigerator at my Home. Basically we dont need refrigerator in Bengaluru because of the weather. But this year all the records are breaking , too much hot here 🔥.. Everbody is hoping for rain now. So that the weather will come normal.
Today is Lazy day and lazy Me🤭. I came up with a boring vegetable ,which most of the people dont like to have it. Yes- that is Bottle gourd. I made this boring vegetable in interesting way and it turns out delicious lauki or bottle gourd is cooling properties veggies that is perfect for summer.
So today I am sharing a recipe of Bottle gourd curry in my way which is not only boring to make but delicious and you will love it.

INGREDIENTS
For shallow fry the bottle gourd
▪︎bottle gourd 1
▪︎gram flour-2 tbspn
▪︎oil-½tspn for spinkling on pieces of lauki
▪︎redchili powder-⅓tspn
▪︎salt-to the taste
▪︎garam masala-⅓tspn
▪︎oil- for shallow fry 2 tbpn
For the curry-
▪︎oil -2tbspn
▪︎Tomatoes½cup
▪︎onions-½cup
▪︎cumin seeds-½tspn
▪︎garlic paste-1tspn
▪︎water-½cup
▪︎kasuri Meethi for garnish
▪︎coriander powder-½tspn
▪︎turmeric powder-½tspn
▪︎redchili powder-½tspn
METHOD
1.take fresh lauki. Wash it.
2.Peel and cut it into round shapes.
3.now in a plate arrange all the lauki pieces and sprinkle oil,
Redchili powder.
4.gram flour, salt.
5.sprinkle some garam masala. Mix all well so that the spices combined well
6.now heat oil in a pan. And fry the lauki pieces.
7.when the lauki are golden brown in colour and cooked then off the flame and keep aside.
8.now in mixer add tomatoes and make a smooth paste.
9.heat oil in kadhai.
10.add cumin seeds.
11.further add chopped onions.
12.fry till the raw aroma goes.
- Now add garlic paste.
14.add tomato puree. Stir it.
15.further add turmeric powder, redchili powder, salt and coriander powder.
16.mix all well and cook for 10 mins in low meduim flame.
17.add lauki pieces.
18.Sorry....here my electricity went off. So have to used torch for the pic.
19.mix all well.
20.now add little water.
21.cover and cooknfor 5 to 8 mins. So that the gravy thickens in proper consistency.
22.add crushed kasuri Meethi off the flame and transfer the Lauki curry in a bowl.
- See the colour of the curry! Its so perfect and looking delicious 😋. So next time make this bottle gaurd curry in this style and you will love the taste of it. Children love this to have in meal too.
