Greetings!
The advent of technology has brought about huge blessings to the entire human race. This blessings can be seen in every aspect of human daily living which in one way or the other has brought ease to the day to day human activities.
The technological advancements in the various aspect of life has really improved the way and standard of human living. The technological development in areas such as communication, appliances, media and so on has really brought comfort and convenience to us all.
But out of all these aspect of life that technology has really impacted, one of them is so important because of what it Carries and that thing it Carries as to do with food which is meant for feeding, no wonder there's a popular saying in my local parlance which says, " when food or feeding is out of poverty, then the poverty has no more power." So, going with this, food is very essential to all human either young or old, male or female. It is a must commodity.
So, I lieu of this, I will like to talk more on the impact of technology on farming as we all know that without farming food cannot come forth. It's only when there's planting and rearing that food can be presented to our table. So, for this reason, the essence and importance of technology on farming cannot be overemphasized. And this is because, technology has really brought ease and rapid growth to how farming is being done nowadays when compared to the good old days.
In those days, farming was being carried out in a crude way with the use of crude implements such as the cutlasses, hoes and other crude implement as used by our forefathers in those days. These farm implements back then are used with difficulties as our forefathers back then tilled down manually with little harvest and low profit recorded at the end of the harvest season. Though, all the farm produce are of good and raw quality which is always good and add the required nutrient to the body.
But, the gradual shift from the manual system to the new era of technological system of farming has really brought comfort and ease to the entire human race and not the farmers alone. When I mentioned the entire human race, people will be wondering how this is connected to everybody and not restricted to the farmers alone. One thing is that, when there's food production, it's not only meant forfarmer to eats all the produce from his farm, but everybody. So, this technological advancements has really brought about comfort and ease to everyone but most especially the farmer, who can now farm with ease and comfort with the help and aid of the technological manufactured machines which can be used for commercial farming both in planting and rearing. Such machines which includes, tractor, bulldozer, ploughing machine and other processing machine has really helped the farmers in the large production of their farm produce both with ease and comfort.
Now, farmers can now boast of large production and profit without them working like an elephant as it used to be in the past where they work like an elephant and eat like ant, but now, the reverse is the case as they work like an ant and eat like an elephant. So, the effect of technology on farming has really brought huge and large production with big profit to the farmers and apart from this, the advent of technological advancements has also, help to reduce hunger in the land. Hunger would have been the other of the day in the land had it been that the production of farm produce was like that of the ages and this is due to the vast increase in the population of the whole world right now. But thank to the advent of technology that has really increase the production of food to meet the increase in the demand of the entire human population.
But with all this advantages, there's also the side effects of the use of technology in the production of farm produce as most of the technological farm produce are not as natural as those one produced by the crude system used by our forefathers. Though, they may not have been able to produce big and make enormous gains, but what they produce is natural and healthy compared to those things produced with the use of preservatives and fertilizers for rapid growth, but in the other round, contribute to the health challenges being faced by human, now, with the advent of technology in farming, sicknesses and illnesses of various degree are now on the rampage, the people of old lived till old age just because of what kind of food they eat which are natural, but now, though we also live long, but not as that of old, preservatives through the use of technology has really contributed to the down health of so many people in this current era.
Though, there are many benefits of the technological to farming and agricultural processes, but the adverse effect of this atimes may be so grievous for humans to bear as this is a matter of life and death. People, most especially farmers are now after profits with the use of technology than healthy living as it used to be in the past.
