Three Weeks Later…

Before I begin, I’d like to acknowledge my new followers to this blog. I’m doing quite well on Ecency Waves, and it’s the fastest way to get interaction and feedback on Hive right now.

Welcome aboard!

It’s been over 3 weeks since my last blog post, so I am long overdue for an update blog post.

It’s Wednesday evening and I’ve just finished a 1.1 litre bottle of Schweppes Sarsparilla and a baked potato meal I was allowed to take home from work and I am currently watching season 2 of Marvel’s Hit Monkey, an animated story about a simian hitman.

I’ve seen the first season of Scavengers Reign and it is brilliant. Pure old school scifi.

A few weeks ago I was offered a ticket to George Balanchine’s Jewel, an Australian Ballet.

It was my first time seeing a ballet and I am still not particularly a fan of it.

Me, not a fan of ballet

Apparently you could get a program that explained the story the ballet was trying to tell, but I felt that it could have benefitted from a narrator just giving a small description of the story before each section.

There was an orchestra, but I could only really see the head of the conductor. The music was amazing and seemless.

The production values and set design were really well done, so that all it took was a change of lighting and costumes to really change the appearance of the setting.

As for the ballet, everyone on stage was highly trained and skilled. Piroets, spinning, leaping, walking on tippy toes, and so one were for the most part seemless.

Some of the choreography was a little of out synch by one ballerina early on, but that was only for a few seconds.
Another ballerina had slight momentary fumble with her footing which caused a gasp of concern from the audience right after she corrected it and performed seemlessly after that.

They were just so professional and athletic. You could see the upper back muscles on some of the ballerinas too. Incredible.

There were young girls in the audience too.
One of the toddlers sang out “Goodbye!” after the first ballerina left the stage and the audience politey applauded
and then erupted into stifled laughter.

Fresh Kills by Jennifer Esposito is a great movie. It’s like a mafia movie only from the perspective of the women in those families.

I’ve been working at the Caravan and Camping Sale for the last few weeks. Setting up and packing down for one company and selling tickets to the event for another company.

Setting up often includes kicking carpet tiles back into place after caravans and campers dislodge them from being drive on and turning.

Sometimes the caravans park right top of the disloged tile meaning I have to wait for them to move it.

The definition of frustration

This is my sense of humour:

How do I spend my weekends?

Occasionally vendors give us free food for standing on our feet for hours on end.

Eating a sausage roll

Some of the vendors create awesome meals, but they are frightfully expensive. The show runners rip off the vendors who in turn have to raise their prices.

An awesome, but expensive meal

A steaming hot meal on a cold Winter’s day

Last week I saw the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie. It was hilarious, gorey, sweary, blasphemous and an all round good time.

I bought the popcorn tin as a momento. I have all three, one from each of the movies.

Today I got up extremely early to get to a catering assistant job of the other side of Adelaide by 7:30am.

I saw some advertising on the side of a bus and it looked really cool.

The dawn sky was incredible and I managed to capture it before needing to catch a bus.

The job was working in a private school’s canteen making sandwiches and preparing other foods like pastas, wraps, cheeseburgers, etc. for the recess / lunch display.

We had to organise the school lunch orders and it also involved some cash handling and general sales during recess and lunch.

I did OK but I struggled finding some items in the cash register because they had different names.

At the end of the day though, I was offered daily shifts for the next two weeks and that will lead into work at the Royal Adelaide Show and that is certainly something to be grateful for.

In closing, I have missed contributing to my own blog but also with the Hive community.

I’m glad to be back.

Thank you for reading.

Until next time, always insist on being treated with dignity and respect.

Have not been to the ballet in years, magical to see once you understand the story line. Full orchestra brings out such high standard, good production watching the athletic ballerinas. I do prefer classical more than modern.

Good to hear you are happy in how life is going work wise.

Thank you very much. I still have to be frugal in the short term, but I know how to invest in myself.

Being prudent affords other rewards later.
