Gdansk for a few moments ⛪ 🇵🇱

in Worldmappin11 days ago (edited)

Gdańsk is one of the most interesting cities in Poland, it is located on the Baltic Sea and has a great atmosphere - I have been here several times and depending on the weather, the atmosphere of the city changes. It is an important place in the history of Europe - this is where World War II began (on Westerplatte), and then the fall of communism in Poland (thanks to Solidarity and Lech Wałęsa). It is a city with a rich history, full of beautiful tenement houses, atmospheric streets and great places to eat.

I could write a lot and spend a lot of time here, but not today. I am sending you some photos from my trip, Gdańsk was just a stop on the map, I came here to use the airport. But in a few hours I saw a bit of the city on a cloudy day. I tested a local hamburger and a doughnut with meat (this is the first time I have eaten meat for dessert), and a Dubai doughnut. I saw the huge St. Mary's Church (yes, Krakow also has a famous church with this name), I visited the Sanctuary of the Pregnant Mother of God in Matemblewo. I met tigers, a mole and beautiful tenement houses as I mentioned earlier. Anyway, see for yourself :)

To miasto z bogatą historią, pełne pięknych kamienic, klimatycznych uliczek i świetnych miejsc do jedzenia.

Charming city. Haven´t been there yet but I really hope to visit one day. We were actually thinking about relocating to Gdansk from Krakow for a while but we were too comfortable in Krakow haha :)

Fun fact: Lechia fans are friends with Slask fans who are friends with my Czech hometown club fans so theoretically, we are friends with Lechia as well! :D
