Hi Everyone,
We wanted to have some good sushi after our hike up the mountain so hubby found 沼津魚がし鮨 as it had a pretty good rating online. We wanted an early dinner to avoid the crowds. This restaurant provides mainly sushi sets but they do have various sushi available depending on what is available at the fish market on the day.
The daily menu was all written in Japanese and the main sets can be ordered from the tablet which has various languages. We were all very hungry so we ordered a set to eat. Even the kids ordered an adult set as the kids sets were not very appealing. We also upgraded some of our soups to crab miso soups, which cost a little bit more than the free soup. We also ordered some extra large oysters.
Food came not long after, oh my the sushi was huge! The quality of the fish was just superb, no wonder they had such a high rating even though the prices of the sets are higher priced than the usual sushi train stores. The thickness of the fish as you can see from the picture was pretty impressive, feels like they just want to fill you up with fish rather than the rice. Very fresh, very sweet fish and seafood. The oyster was impressive.
I was a bit skeptical due to the expensive menu price on the dish but thinking we won’t come back here again for some time, let’s try it. Wow, how fresh was it. It was pretty big as you can see with my finger there for comparison of size, I wish I had ordered another place as it was just so sweet. The oysters tasted much different than the ones we get back home and our Australian oysters are famous for their freshness.
Highly recommend going to this restaurant if you are in town to see Mount Fuji. You do need to drive there as public transport doesn’t get to the venue. Such a great find, yummmmmm.
